Teppan Edo in Japan?

We have been once before and will be going back in May for our arrival night dinner. The food, chefs, and atmosphere are all great, but you are talking to a family who don't go to these types of restaurants outside of Disney :goodvibes

Our Ratings of Teppan Edo: (rev 1/17/11)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: C+
. . . food quantity per serving: C-
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C-
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff helpfulness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: The hibachi tables seat eight (two each side, four
front side); sometimes they can squeeze nine if several kids.
Depending upon the chef, it can be exciting and entertaining,
or it can be almost dull. Quality is below a Benihana, but above
average. It should be noted that medium-large or large appetites
will probably want to stop before or after dinner for a snack,
as the portions are medium-sized.

We've enjoyed our meals there. One thing that bothered me was how loud the exhaust fans above the grills were, you can talk to the person next to you but not with people further away.

We have been here three times and really enjoyed it all three times, we will be going back again in May when we are there.

One of our favorite restaurants at Epcot - we are going this July again.

This was one of our favorite dining experiences of our last trip. We scheduled a late meal (7:40 or 7:50?) for the day great-grandpa joined us at Epcot. Honestly, I think he had the best time. It was his 80th birthday and they gave him a hat and he was thrilled like a little kid. :goodvibes

We finished our meal just before Illuminations, so we watched the fireworks from right there in Japan.

Here are a few pics...

ETA:
* My girls loved the bathroom. They came back to the table and insisted that I use it :upsidedow

* DH would suggest not drinking 5+ glasses of the green tea. :rolleyes1

We had dinner there last week and had a great time! We've been to many hibachi restaurants and this is one of the better ones in our opinion.

Five adults dining ~ 2 of us had the chicken, one had swordfish, one had shrimp, and one had beef. All the meals were delish.

We will be going back in December!

We've done it on our past 3 trips and love it. Food is always tasty, and the environment is lots of fun. Last time it was DH's b-day, and they gave him a lovely paper chef's hat and thoroughly embarrassed him by singing Happy Bday! DS5 and DD3 LOVED it!! :rotfl:

We eat there every trip --the food and service is consistently excellent. All the CM's are really nice and the food is great. We usually eat there for lunch because the prices are lower and we don't do the DDP- it's a great deal on the DDP, though.

Went to this restaurant when it was called Teppanyakki Grill but not since. My wife and I love hibachi style and think our 8 and 5 year olds will get a kick out of it. Anyone have any reviews or thoughts on this choice?

I've been to it by both names and found it to be exactly the same, just different names.

I just went there. The food is good (not spectacular but really quite tasty) and the show is a lot of fun. However, if you are not on the dining plan it will cost you, especially if you throw in some alcoholic beverages (Teppan Edo does not accept the Tables in Wonderland discount). Compared to something like a Benihana, the menu is limited and the show a bit subdued, but Benihana doesn't do Mickey onions (maybe they do sometimes, I don't know). As noted, there is communal seating, 8 seats to a table.
