My son is allergic to shellfish. How will they accommodate this if another family orders shrimp when we eat there.

They will either cook it first, as described, or sometimes they will cook allergy food in the kitchen and serve it from there.

My husband has a shellfish allergy, and he will have a slight reaction at a hibachi-type restaurant even if he doesn't eat any shrimp. I think a certain amount of the shrimp is aerosolized when they cook on the table side grill, and it gets in the air and causes a problem for him. Just be aware of this if your family member has a severe allergy and be prepared to leave quickly if they start to have a problem.

They will do everything they can with in reason. Heck a woman at our table yesterday just ordered the vegetarian dish and said she was vegetarian and 3 people talked with her about it. She was so embarrassed by the end of it. I think it was because the waitress didn't understand fully that it was not an allergy and she didn't care if it was all cooked together she was just vegetarian by choice. Then the 2nd girl didn't really understand either so the manager came over and confirmed.

With allergies they either cook the food in the back or they cook it first on the grill.
