:wave:So, I currently have an 8:10PM ADR for Teppan Edo in Japan on Friday, 1/27. I also wanted to catch Illuminations at 9:00PM on the same night... Would my current ADR give me enough time to get seated, eat, and get the check in time to see Illuminations from Japan? Is there even a decent enough view from Japan to enjoy it?:crowded: There are two other options: 6:20PM, 7:50PM, and just coming up at a random time, hoping they'll take walk-ups.

:confused3

With the 6:20PM option, I feel that I might finish early and be wasting time just loitering around the area to wait for Illuminations. But if there are any other places people could advise...I could probably spend that time commuting.
With the 7:50PM option, I feel that it only makes a slight difference.
And with the walk-up option...well that's just wishful thinking.

Any advice would be greatffully appreciated!:listen: :woohoo:

EDIT: I now realize that there's a 9:30PM option as well...so I could just eat after Illuminations. I don't mind eating a late dinner...but it will cut into some EMH time. I'm only spending the later half of my day at Epcot, the first half will be at MK that day.

I would go with the 6:20, if you for sure want to see Illuminations. It's always possible you will not be seated on time, and then depending on how long the food takes, you could very well be there for over an hour. We once ate at R&C during Illuminations and were sat 40 mins past our ADR time. The 9:30 also isn't a bad option, but I'd rather be done with eating to enjoy EMH.

What others have always posted is that at Teppan Edo you really don't control the pace of the meal so 50 minutes maybe pushing it.

I think your hope of finishing in time to find a decent viewing spot for Illuminations with the existing ADR is somewhere between slim and none.
The later the ADR, the longer the delay in being seated. And this is common to many of the restaurants. And unless you are accustomed to dining late, you might find yourself absolutely starving by the time the latest ADR rolls around. And yes, given that this place is so popular, trying a walk up is a very bad idea IMO

Get the early ADR if you really want to see Illuminations. You don't have to hang around the Japan pavilion in order to see it. Go out on the promenade and find a good spot.
There is a place on the upper level of the Pavilion (an upper balconey) but it doesn't have the best views.
