Tents at Cabins?

It seems like this may be not allowed, but can't find a definitive answer on it. Our last stay we saw several canopies at cabins, and somel tents in the areas behind some of the cabins which people were obviously using for sleeping. I know this is allowed at the campsites, but anyone have any experience with this at the cabin sites?

ez-ups and canopies are allowed at the cabins but not tents.
