Tentative June itinerary- thoughts?

I'm hoping the AG seating ~ assuming it happens ~ is available to all onsite guests not just GCH & Villas.

I cannot imagine it wouldn't be open to anyone willing to pay. I just realized where AG is located. Scratch my prior comment, I'd take those seats for WoC in a heartbeat!

I didn't realize when they said they will close early that it's not THAT early. That's good to know for next year. For some reason ithought DL was closing at 6...I can't wait til June!!!!

I totally agree! 9 pm isn't ideal but it's certainly not horrible.

Ch ch ch changes.......................We are thinking about driving straight through from Utah, staying the night at the PPH or HoJo and making rope drop the first day. Utah to Anaheim is an 11 hour drive. What to do, what to do?

At this point it is all speculation and not worth making definite plans about. Disney may not have yet made up its mind. However, this info gives a peak into what they are thinking:

There's also the Annual Passholder problem, as most of them won't arrive to see World of Color until the late afternoon. The Showpass concept is set up to favor a person arriving in the morning and spending the entire day at DCA, and Showpasses will also be pulled out of the system in advance and given to people staying at Disney's hotels as a Disney Travel Company and Disney Vacation Club perk. The plan is to try and offer two shows on nights the park stays open until 10:00 PM, but that will leave many spring evenings with just one planned show that can't accommodate the arriving AP's, unless they allow people to remain in an otherwise closed DCA to stay for a second show.

What is also throwing the DCA planners a curve ball is the fairly long run time of the World of Color show, which is currently clocking in at just under 30 minutes. (For reference, Fantasmic! clocks in at 22 minutes, Remember Dreams Come True fireworks are 17 minutes long, and Epcot's Illuminations show is 15 minutes long.) The prestigious London Symphony Orchestra is slated to record the official soundtrack for the show later this month, and Steve Davison has agreed to try and trim some scenes, but it's still going to be a very long show.

Don't forget, the viewing amphitheater has been designed as a standing-room only area, with no ground or chair seating available like they offer at Fantasmic!. The 9,000 person audience capacity is all based on every single person standing for the show, as this takes up a lot less room than people sitting on the ground or in a chair. (Thank those industrial engineers in TDA again.) When the amphitheater is opened up to Showpass ticket holders an hour or more before show time, it's going to be standing-room only all the way through the show.

The Resort's restaurant department is planning on offering dining packages that guarantee you a space to stand if you spend a certain dollar amount at a Resort restaurant, and the Ariel's Grotto restaurant will also offer expensive dining packages with a view from their waterside deck. But most of the space in the amphitheater will be reserved for Showpass ticket holders only.

Standing all the way up to and throught the show? Holy Hannah! I watched it last night and it is fabulous!






I was mainly thinking about driving straight throught just to give us more time since staying Friday night is not an option but I am wondering if the resort restaurants are guarenteeing you a place to stand, if there is some sort of number system with rows and numbered standing spaces vs hauling us in like cattle. I can imagine people "rushing" the front. Organized chaos seems to be on the menu.

Standing room only???? What about the kids and us short people? It's even hard for us to view fireworks which are high in the sky! This frustrates me because I end up having to carry my sons which weigh about 90 and 50 lbs on my shoulders or back and I myself am not even 5 feet tall!!!

I hope we will be able to see WOC at our next visit.

Disney is not going to design a show which cannot be viewed by children. It cost tens of million dollars to design and build World of Color and Disney wants kids to see it. Yes, you may have to work a little harder to get a good viewing spot. But kids will be able to see it.

The WOC area has been rebuilt in recent months with terraces added to allow for a better viewing experience. Will it be perfect? I doubt it, like Fantasmic viewing is not perfect. But it does work.

thank you for all the information. I am the kind of person who will sit there for hours and steak out a spot for fireworks or F! so my kids can see. That sometimes doesn't work because when they tell everyone to stand they can no longer see. All they can see is the back of the person in frnt of them. Even when I wait in front row in front of hue castle they allowed traffic to walk right in front of you so they could not see when tall people pass. That is where my frustrations stem from. I will keep a positive mind and hope that their plans will work out for WOC! I am so excited! They absolutely love all the shows and parades that they offer and have been following the development of WOC online. My 11 and 9 year old update me on anything new going on. I also love watching their versions of Disney parades and F!

I am right there with you. I don't mind staking and waiting but when they let the latecomers cut in, it's maddening.


Can't wait to see how the WoC pans out as well as what the June hours will be. Looks like May hours have been updated; so close yet so far.

Did a little more research and it looks like June 14/15 will be packed, like to capacity packed, due to no passes being blocked out. I knew it would be packed but not Christmas packed.
