Tentative Dining Reservations: Do they sound okay?

We'll be touring the parks March 5th-11th, without the Dining Plan. The family wants it to be one of those "no-reservations, go with the flow" vacations, but I'm working them into understanding that if they want to eat at certain places they need reservations. This is what I've managed to get...how do they look? (We made a lot of them lunches to try and cut costs and leave evenings free).

March 5th:
8:05 Breakfast at Crystal Palace
1:30 Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern

March 6th:
6:30 Dinner at the Biergarten (It's for a birthday, but he wants to spend the actual day at the magic kingdom. This is a do-able time for dinner with day touring at MK, right?)

March 7th:
12:30 Lunch at Le Chefs De France
6:20 Dinner at Via Napoli (This is our night to see Illuminations. We want to watch it by the gondola dock. Will there be enough time to eat and grab a spot?)

March 8th:
(We'll be at Islands of Adventure for HP that day. We were planning on Three Broomsticks for lunch and Mythos for dinner. Should I reserve at Mythos?)

March 9th:
12:30 Lunch at Yak and Yeti

March 10th:
12:10 Lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In

March 11th:
1:05 Lunch at Le Celier (It's a special romantic date for DBF and myself. Sadly there were no spots available for dinner on *any* night of our trip...I thought there would be something free so I hadn't thought anything of waiting for them to accept the need for ADR's, but this was all that was left. Is lunch still good...?)

What do you all think? Are any of these restaurants horrendous? (I was told they were all great for eaters with varied palattes) Are the times okay? Is there anything I should really try to change?

Did you try calling for a dinner reservation for Le Cellier. It doesn't show up as available at all online, just like Via Napoli did when it was first opened to reservations. This probably has something to do with the changing at dinner to a signature restaurant (2TS credits). You might call the dining reservation number just to see. The worst you'll be told is that nothing is available, but you just might get the time you are wanting.

I could be totally wrong. I've been playing around with the new online system since they made changes from last time I used it. I can't make ressies until November (I'm one of those nutty uber planners), but that is a trend I've noticed for Le Cellier. It seems unusual to me that lunch is available at almost any time and dinner isn't available at all with the TS credit changes they are making for March. I would assume lunch would be almost impossible to get.

We love CP for breakfast, especially before the park opens! We are trying Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch for our first time so I can't comment on it.

I haven't tried any of the other ADR's you have except Sci-fi and Le Cellier. Sci-fi was OK, nothing special (we enjoyed the food at 50's Prime Time better) and Le Cellier was our favorite restaurant of 18 on our last trip!

Enjoy your trip!!

Thank you for writing back!

Haha, last night suddenly the whole family decided they were *really* into planning. Go figure that it happens after I do the reservations :rotfl:

Not much changed, but on the 11th they want to do Akershus for the Princess lunch (DBF's sis loves princesses and they don't wanna mess with CRT) and Rose and Crown that night for dinner to see Illuminations even better. (They're big into Illuminations but not so big on Mexican food, so La Hacienda is out) So DBF and I had to cancel Le Celier anyway :sad1: Oh well. I saw they were changing the menu so I'm not too upset.

So, March 11th is now:
Lunch: Akershus at 12:25
Dinner: Rose and Crown at 7:50 (What we do is request Illuminations seating when we walk in, right? Is this a good time for the show...?)

(And, as a note for 50's...I was going to reserve there but I'm pretty sure the family won't like the...er...acting, of the waiters...I'm hoping Sci Fi is at least decent food...)

They look good BUT my advice? If your family doesn't want to be tied to ADRs, don't make ADRs outside the park you'll be touring so that they won't be forced to park hop if they don't want to. Make an ADR in MK on your MK day so it can feel "more spontaneous" or at a nearby resort so it'll be a quick hop (and no going through the turnstiles before dinner). For a birthday, The Wave is very nice at the Contemporary resort and it won't be much effort to get there.

I completely agree, MyTwoPrincesses, but the birthday boy is set on day touring at MK and bday dinner at the Biergarten :P He's big into german food...But, everything else I planned around what day we would be at what park. All the epcot ones we figure will at least be easy to get to if we decide to have some extra MK time, cause of the monorail...and keeping them inside the parks is best, rather than going to a resort, because of the way they tour. It's hard to get a certain few focused on the rides, funnily enough. :confused3
