Breakfast:

1900 Park Fare
Boma
Kona Cafe

Lunch:
Crystal Palace
Biergarten
Tusker House Restaurant
Rose & Crown
50's Prime Time Cafe
Sci-Fi Dine In

SO.... what's the verdict???? Thanks so much for any input - I'm not totally familiar with all the restaurants since this will only be our 2nd trip!

I love so many of your restaurants! Many of our favorites are listed. How many days are you planning to stay?

Okay...I"m going to try and make this as non confusing as possible haha...

So

Breakfast really depends on how into the characters you are. We ate at Chef Mickey's in 06, no kids in the party, just three young adults having some fun. It was too LOUD, and to me it seemed cheesey compared to CRT. Personally unless i was staying at the Contemporary(or had very small children), I wouldn't do it again. The food was standard, eggs, bacon, what have you. Definitely not worth getting up at the crack for unless the little ones beg. If you want a great character breakfast and get lucky Cindy's is really cool. I just love the atmosphere and it gets you into the MK early so you dont have to stand in the throngs of people at gate opening. People young and old will like it there.

I'd say out of all your breakfast options...if you do like characters, would be 1900 park fare. They have unique characters like the Mad Hatter and Alice, who are a trip to watch. Check out you tube and type in Mad Hatter and Alice and you'll see what I mean. If you are not into the characters as much, I'd do Boma(not sure if they have characters here or not). I"ve never eaten here but I"ve heard great things about the food.

Lunch

Coral Reef is all Seafood. Mahi Mahi and stuff like that. So if you guys are big on sea food and like the cool aquarium atmosphere I would pick this for Lunch considering the prices are much lower than dinner. If you can, request a seat near the glass so you can get a cool view of the fish!

Personally, for a lunch choice, I would pick Prime Time just because the food is priced moderately and you get a pretty cool show out of it. The waiters come to your table and act like 'mom' or "dad' and tell you to eat your food and things like that. The only downfall is, sometimes you get a waiter that isn't 'on' so to speak. We got one like the the last time we were there, and it really turned the whole experience into a mediocre diner like lunch. The food was good though, nothing spectacular...chicken and mashed potatoes, things like that.

I"ve eaten in Les Chefs but for Dinner. Keep in mind, World Showcases Lunch prices are much more moderate, but the food choices aren't as good as the dinner choices in my opinion. Our server here was great. I was afraid to try Escargo but he absolutely insisted I would like it, and to my shock and surprise he was right. I ate them all! The lamb was also very good. The atmosphere is a little bit cramped. If you can, try to get a table by the window so you can look out at the lagoon.

I"ve never been to Sci Fi. I"ve heard the food is expensive and not very good though. It's really the atmosphere that you're paying for. I'ts dark and you sit in tables that are shaped like cars while old Movies play on a big screen. It's great for kids, but adults might find it loud and not up to par.

Rose and Crown seems pretty good. I looked at the menu and it appealed to me. It's mostlyi meat and potatoes and of course fish and chips. Children might be bored with the atmohsphere but it sounds just right for your group. Also the prices are pretty decent. I"d pick it.

Biergarten is nice if you like food and a show, and don't mind sharing your table with other people. Think...cruise line, your seated with other random people. The show is pretty cool I dont know how much it's changed since I was young but i remember it was like a Polka themed show, and they did alot of musical numbers with bells. I think your party would enjoy this as well. If you have beer lovers in your party, this is definitely the place for them. They specialize in German beer, and are very informative about the different types and the taste. Reminder, this is all meat and potatoes. Alot of Bratwurst and things like that. Personally i like this food, but for some it could be considered too filling or greasy.

Crystal Palace is the only restuarant that features Pooh and Friends exclusively. I've never actually been inside but i heard it's really nice there. Of course it will be loud, as it caters to the younger crowd, but I've heard good things about the food there. Another restaurant you might not want to over look is the LIberty Tree Tavern in MK, The food there is really good, and they feature mickey minnie pluto and donald.

I can't speak for Tusker House. I"ve never set foot near or, nor read any reviews about it.

Dinner

Dinner is my favorite meal to have in Disney world. The food is always better, the atmosphere is just...magical. I dont know, something about being in Epcot, or MK at night has always given me the chills:love:

OUt of your list, I only really know about the California Grill and Le Cellier. The California Grill is great for dinner if you time it right. From your seat, if you want, you can view Wishes as your eating dinner. They dim the lights, and from what i've heard, its really fantastic. I've been contemplating eating here on several occasions, but I"m an World Showcase fanatic and I always seem to pass it up. For your party though, i think they'd really enjoy this place. It caters more to the adult crowd as there are no characters. But if you do wish to get an ADR for wishes, make sure you specify that with the CM when you call to place the ADR.

I've heard so many great things about Le Cellier I dont know where to start. Although I have yet to eat here, people have told me that they rate it better than any of the steak houses they've ever eaten in. A few years ago i tried to get in for dinner, but they weren't excepting walk ins that night. It's very popular so make sure you get an ADR, but you should absolutely go here. I Guess the cheese soup is supposed to be great. Go there, Go there, Go there is all I can say.

I cant speak for your other restaurant choices unfortunately because I've never been to any of those places. I can however, recommend one of my very favorite resturants which is San Angel Inn in Mexico. The atmosphere alone is worth this dinner ADR. You eat under a blue moonlit sky by the river that El Rio Del Tiempo flows through. Something about that is so magical to me.

Hope my opinion helps, and if not i'm sorry! I hope you have a great vacation!:wizard:

WOW great advice!! Thanks so much for your opinions - it really does help. I believe we are going to do 50's Prime Time instead of Sci-Fi since I've heard so many reviews that are not up to par.

Not sure about that, sorry. We use the DDE card, so I'm not up on all of that info. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Coral Reef is all Seafood. Mahi Mahi and stuff like that.

Not true at all! Coral Reef has one of the best steaks on property and their grilled porkchop is amazing! I HATE seafood, but Coral Reef has become one of my favorite TS places on property. Also, if you are on the dining plan, you will get more value from going at dinner time. Otherwise, I agree that the prices are quite high otherwise.

Also, I far prefer Sci-fi over 50's Prime Time Cafe. The waiter we had at 50's was awesome, but the food was terrible. I love the burgers and sundaes at Sci-fi, but it is also best at lunch (IMO). I have never gotten anything bad at Sci-fi.

My apologies, i should have said....mostly seafood.

I had Sci Fi for lunch last Nov. We had a later ADR (3:00) and all had burgers and fries. We thought they were pretty good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere! Also, it wasn't loud at all... almost kinda quiet when went, not sure if it was the timing or what. I was a nice afternoon break! We would go back for lunch again.

Since you are doing the delux dining plan price for food is not an option. I love that about the dining plan. The steak at Coral Reef is super, we just ate there on Feb 15th. Since price isn't an option this is what I would get since it is $34.00. My dh and I shared it, because it is quite large.

The atmosphere is fantastic with the huge glass wall at the front of the room with the a sea aquarium behind it. This is the same aquarium that you see on Finding Nemo ride.

If you love sea food this is probably one of the best resturants to eat. I don't think you will regret your decision to eat there.

Of course your server can make or break a meal. Just hope you get a good one. We were celebrating our daughters 12th birthday there and our server wasn't at interested in our celebration but only getting us our food and out of there. We had a gift basket ordered and it was waiting for us on the table when we sat down and also had a special menu made for her and of course she wanted to look at everything. The server seemed pretty put out that we wanted to spend some time looking at the gift basket and not ready to order when she came to our table. She was just task orientated(sp), thats all.

Your choices sound great, I just can't see how you can wait so long to go back. We have 2 more trips planned this year and it is hard to wait for each one.

You might want to try the new Yak and Yetty at Animal Kingdom for your final dinner. I hear it is very good.

Have a great trip.

Artist Pt. is a 2TS, but very worth it. DH and I took my parents to Narcoosees (also a 2TS) last Oct. and they loved it! IMO....I would cancel one of the breakfasts and add in a signature like Artist Pt. or Narcoosees. That is why we are trying the DxDDP this fall, being able to try many of the nicer Signature restaurants is a real plus!

Also remember, you will have tons of snack credits, which can easily be used for breakfast.

We ate at Coral Reef last trip and LOVED it, so looking forward to that one again. Also had Yak and Yeti twice for lunch!!! I wish we could go back this year, but since we are both so young, and are JUST married we just aren't financially able to go. We are doing really good being able to spend the 3K-4K it's going to cost us for May 2009 for the two of us!! I wish we were more financially able, but our time will come!!

We had Narcoosees last time and loved it also!!! I am considering changing out a breakfast for Artist Point dinner... It sounds wonderful and would give us a choice to see WL!
