Hi! I am looking for some current information on tenders in Cannes on the Dream, as my searches only find posts from 2019 and earlier.

If we want to tender at Cannes and are not on DCL excursion, what is the wait time to get a tender and get to shore? And when do they start distributing tender tickets?

Also, for the return to the ship, is the posted all-aboard time the time for the last tender, or do we need to allow tender time so would need to be back at the port say 30-40 minutes earlier? Does anyone remember the time for the last tender back?

Thanks!

Edit to change to port of,Cannes.

The Dream has never been to Villefranche.

Other than 2019, The Magic was only in Villefranche once in 2022, on Sunday June 5, 2022 as part of the 6Night Mediterranean Cruise from Barcelona to Civtavecchia.

There were no European cruises in 2020 and 2021.

You need to find trip reports or YouTube Vlogs from that one cruise in June 2022.

Thanks, I changed the title to Cannes to hope for some Dream tender experiences from there.

It wasn't Cannes this summer from the Dream, but we tendered at Santorini. Honestly it was much better than expected. They said for those of us who did not book a DCL excursion to come to the theater and they would tell us more there. Well, we went, got seated (you have to have your entire party with you - no saving seats and no trying to combine later) and then they took us, one row at a time, to the tender. They were using a different tender/location for the excursion people so we arrived on the island long before we though we would. If anything, it was the most seamless disembarkation we had the entire trip.

For the return tenders, they did tell us when the last tender was going to leave the island. I didn't pay enough attention to notice if we left on time or not, but I think we did.

Hope this helps. I was really worried about this day (so many stress-filled posts online) but it was really not a problem at all.

As PP described, that's the process we've always seen for tenders both in Caribbean and Europe. They'll let you know what time you can go down - it will be in the Navigator and they'll announce it multiple times. They'll tell you when the last tender goes back to the ship so that's effectively all-aboard time. You do need to make sure you are at the port in enough time to get to the tender.

I don't recall any significant security process at the port of Villefranche but it's been a few years and things may have changed. I would personally make sure you're there at least 30 minutes before the last tender to account for any issues. Any times you may hear about from other cruisers you have to assume may only be ballpark. The specific situation may change when you're there so you need to get the times and schedules from DCL but they will make that information available many times.

Thank you! And PS, your kitty is beautiful 😻

We were on the Dream 2023 Mediterranean cruise and visited Cannes on 5/28/2023. Great city to visit and the Cannes Film Festival concluded the day prior. There were a ton of boats and ships in port at the time. The tenders were very fast and convenient...no issues at all. I think we were on the second tender departing the Dream and returned mid-afternoon, but were able to walk right onto the tender for the return to the ship.
