Ten to WIN! (Losing 10 pounds a month)

Could it be muscle weight? Are you measuring inches at all? I'd say that if you're definitely under your calories and everything, don't get too discouraged. (I know, easier said than done!) Next week will be better!

I'm not measuring inches but I hope to gosh it's muscle. nothing like a non-explained weight gain to make you want to run more! It be one thing if I lapsed and ate like a pig - but that couldn't be further from the truth!

I've been doing surprisingly well with staying within my calorie range. I'm back to using the spark people iPhone app to track my food. It frustrates me to log everything, because then I can't just grab little snacks here and there. I know that's the whole point, but darn I miss my all-day eating! Lol

I went for a 4 mile run this morning. It was more of a 30 yard run, 3.99 mile try not to die-athon. I'm not sure what was wrong with me this morning, but it was torture. I just ate a healthy breakfast and I'm off to start my day!

feeling really low today. Still doing diet, but this weekend got a new scale that was digital bc I was having trouble reading the exact lines on the old scale (darn it getting old and bad eyes!). Well, that lousy scale said I was FIVE POUNDS MORE than the old scale!:scared1: Talk about a morale sinker. So now I feel like I'm right back where I started two and a half weeks ago even though I've been continually counting calories, weighing food, exercising and still seeing limited return. I know, it's a slow process - but why didn't it feel so slow packing it on!:rotfl2:

I need opinions: I've been doing one cheat day a week - I'm still usually only a little over the calories allotted when the rest of the week I'm under. Should I give it up? For example, my cheat this week was a personal buffalo chicken pizza and a chocolate chip cookie - I was proud of myself bc I only ate the crust of one slice and just the top of the rest and I went to the movies that night (thor was great!) and had no popcorn even though the rest of my party did. I was over about 200 calories that day but usually I'm about 200 under every day. Opinions?

HUGS!!!:grouphug:

I've been scared as all get out to get on those scales!! Convinced myself to just weigh monthly, but I know that will backfire...the tornadoes through us for a loop...ate out EVERY day one meal (just really depressing being on the farm by myself without all the noises of family) but kept it to a kids meal with the exception of one Capt. D's fish plate...ugh! Then I developed a horrible case of bronchitis..finally to the point where I'm only coughing every 10 minutes...without power we had to put off p90x..got back to it last week, but coughing every 2 minutes made it tough...hoping to get back into it today and it's officially day 6 for p90x..so feel like I'm starting all over!

We all have setbacks..I was with you on cheating once a week, but I just don't lose well when I do that..so I've moved to cheating once a month barring natural disasters/illness...so hopefully, we are DONE with those!!

My goal is to just stick to 1200 calories a day and work my tushee off....and I will weigh in on Thursday...hmm..maybe I should change it to Friday so I won't be as tempted on the weekends! :)

Congrats to the four miler!! Those days are WINNING losing days in my book, no matter how hard it was to get there! :)

Keep it up people...hope to post my 40 pound lost pictures soon! :)

Can you have a cheat day where you still stay under your calories? Just eat really really well the rest of the day, and then do a small portion of your cheat. The other night Dh wanted Friday's for dinner, and I love their Jack Daniels chicken. I had eaten well enough the rest of the day to splurge on calories. I split the entire entree and sides in half right from the get-go. I was able to eat that AND a skinny cow ice cream, and I was still in my calorie range!

I'm exhausted today. My 4 year old DD has been up since 2 am with a stomach bug. I've gotten a few 10 minute naps here and there, but definitely not enough. I'm supposed to take Dh to his post-surgery appointment today, but he is checking to see if he can reschedule. (It's workmans comp so he doesn't want to get in trouble.) I sure hope we can stay home!

 Hoping your daughter is better today, that has got to be the worst type of night, hope you took a nap with her and didn't push yourself!!

Excellent job staying in your calorie range!!! :)

Guys, I am MOTIVATED...perhaps it's because TOM has gone and went...tornado reality has past...but I am sooo excited to say Biggest Loser has motivated the heck out of my next 20 weeks! If they can lose 100 pounds in 20 weeks, I can surely get these 10 pounds off a month!! So, today my son, hubby and I started our first day of our 20 weeks.

I got on the scale...was not so bad, I had gained 4 pounds in the past four weeks of not weighing and eating out during that storm week...I am at 232.2
I hope to lose 60 pounds in the next 20 weeks..to put me below 170!! It will be a thrill to get there...and if I can just commit for 20 weeks in a row...I can't allow cheats...I know where that puts me!

I'm using the diet meals I printed out from the Multigrain Cheerios box and we're writing everything we eat down this week..hopefully that will help us stay committed...we're committed to the p90x (son and I) and in addition to that I will be treadmilling 2x a day for 4 miles total...taking one day off to rest and do the p90x stretching day...

It's serious...I will NOT go through this summer losing 20 pounds and putting it back on! I'm changing..(love that song)....here are some lyrics that fit this momentous day!! :)

I am changing
Seeing everything so clear
I am changing
I'm gonna start right now, right here
I'm hoping to work it out
And I know that I can

Off to do my first two miles!! Just had my bowl of multigrain cheerios and skim milk..it's only the first hour I am up but I'm changing!! :)

Good for you! I'm trying to get back on track too. The past few weeks, I've gone a little crazy with eating and slacking off on my workouts. I've used the excuse of dh recovering from surgery. I'm not going to lie, that has been hard on us. But now he's vastly improving (he can walk with crutches while putting weight on his foot!!!!) and I have time to do it. I have to get back to meal planning and actually having food in the house.:rotfl: That's my biggest downfall. It seems like every meal we've eaten this week is takeout, because our kids are at MIL's house and we use that as a treat. Bad, bad, bad. Honestly I think it will be easier now that I'm back to work (tonight is my first night back in 3 weeks) because I'll be back to my regular schedule.

:grouphug: I think it's just a plague!! Everything you described sounds just like my past 3 years..it is soo tough to stay with a program when life gets thrown a curve! I hope your husband is feeling much better and I bet getting back on a schedule will help immensely!! You can do it!!

Well, my first week at Biggest Loser mentality got off to a STRONG start!!! I did p90x 4 days in a row and 4 miles of walking 4 days in a row..then I got a bug..I was sacked out all weekend..still had an appetite but could not get out of bed!! UGH! Then I had a procedure yesterday so I rewarded myself with Chik-Fil-A chicken tenders..but I only had two so even though I reached for the bad stuff..I limited it!! I also had a portion of cheetos..somehow, I can handle the surgery stuff with no meds but the after effects...just remembering the sounds (thank goodness it was a cyst on my back where I can not see,) and the tugging/cutting/stitching...ugh..made me so squeamish that I thought I would faint after getting off the table!

But even with all that I lost 5 pounds this week!!!!! So excited! So now I want to see what a week of sticking to it can do!!! :) I've got a big birthday party for my 16 year old son tomorrow..lots of cheat foods..so must be strong and get my workouts in!!

Keep it going all!! We can do this!!! :)

congrats! 5 pounds is awesome! I'm still running/walking and dieting. I've lost, I think, about 13-14 pounds since May 1 - hard to gauge bc of the new scale fiasco. Dh says he can tell a difference but of course I can't. I even ran/walked this morning even though I have a sinus infection. I'm taking the rest of the week off from my early morning run/walk as we are going to DC tonight and I expect to do a lot of walking there! I do plan, however, to be good eating. I have already looked at the menus to decide what to eat so I'm not going in blind.

Hi all. Joining in and new here. I totally understand the emotional eating that and bored eating are my downfalls. Plus I hate exercise but I love Disney and hope to one day do a 5K fun run there. I am not a runner but I do walk and have an on the feet job for 12 hours a day. I only need to lose 25 lbs. to get to my wedding day weight of 110 and at 5'2" that is a good size for me. I lost the first 12 lbs easy, but now I'm stuck for the last 2 months at the same size and gained back a couple of pounds, arrgh. I tried Zumba for the first time today and wow, is that fun! But I have 2 left feet and no coordination at all, and at about minute number 3, I felt like crying because I couldn't duplicate the steps or the arm motions and looked like a windmill in a tornado. I am not a dancer and have no dance skills whatsoever. Thank goodness I was at home in my own home and following a you tube video! So it will be a long time before I venture out to join a real class but I will def try it again in the privacy of my own home and find a slow version where they teach you every single step by step before trying to keep up with real time again. I was sooo frustrated by my inability to see and follow the dance moves. Anyway, here I am and I'm joining in!
