Tempura Kiku or Coral Reef?

We are a family of 6.....Mom, Dad, 2 - 15yr old girls, 11yr old boy, and 8yr old girl. We will be on the dining plan. Never been to either one and would like opinions. Originally planned on Tempura Kiku, but now that Coral Reef is 1TS ........

I have never been to Coral Reef, but it gets generally bad reviews whenever it is mentioned.

I have eaten at Tempura Kiku and it was delicious.

the japanese restaurants always seem to get good reviews - how about teppanyaki (sp)? it's fun to watch the chefs and the food is very good

We've been to Tempura Kiku and really loved it. The food was good and the place was practically empty on a summer afternoon, so it was a nice break. But keep in mind the food is ALL tempura, as the name implies. (We did order a fresh fruit plate too, though.) So I think it really is a choice of food. We
haven't been to Coral Reef yet, but it is steak and seafood vs. the tempura food. Coral Reef also has the aquarium going for it. But Tempura Kiku has a nice view out into World Showcase.

Also, when are you eating? Will you be in future world or World Showcase?? Tempura Kiku is all the way on the far side of World Showcase.

You can also get sushi at tempura kiku. My wife will order the Tempura while sometimes I order sushi.

That's true. We aren't sushi eaters so I forgot about that. Plus we were actually seated in the lounge area and not the sushi bar.
