We currently have an awesome SOG overflow rate for CR tower 12/16 to 12/25, $179 per night plus tax. We're arriving on 12/15, original plan was to use one of our free hotel vouchers from Kellogg Kash for the first night, but the voucher hasn't arrived yet (although it is showing up on the tracking website finally).

Well, then these great email rates show up to tempt me! I made a ressie with the email pin for AKL std at $109 for our first night only. BUT I am really tempted to do AKL savannah at that great $151 rate, at least for a few nights. DS will be almost 3 when we go (turns 3 in January) and I think he'd really love it. So I'm thinking 4 nights AKL, 6 nights CR.

The thing is, I've never been one to look forward to a split stay. The separate stay plan for the first night was an attempt to save a little bit of money since we weren't getting in until late afternoon anyway, and I didn't really mind since we could just do 1 separate bag, then "settle in" at CR for 9 nights.

I also considered switching over to AKL for 10 nights but I hate to give up that great CR rate. We really love CR and have never stayed at the tower before, we love the walkway to MK and the monorail of course. We're going to MVMCP 12/16 and 12/17 and it would really be convenient to be at CR for those days.

Help me decide?! I am leaning towards keeping everything the way it is right now (1 night AKL std, 9 nights CR tower) but wanted to get opinions. It makes me feel better making my decision :D

How about splitting it right down the middle? Best of both worlds, MK area and the serenity of the AKL area with the savannah out your balcony! If you do this, I'd do CR first, then end my vacation at AKL. Knowing you'll be busy busy busy those first few days it makes better sense to be near MK. Your AKL days you'll be winding down more and be able to enjoy the resort to its fullest!

Good luck in your decision!

Thanks for the input! With either ressie, the 2nd ressie must have a 12/19 check-in to get the great rate, so that's why it has to be a 4 night-6 night split at most. And we can't stay at CR first because we only get the overflow rate if SOG is sold out, and it is only sold out 12/23 to 12/25.

That's just what we're doing this NOv! 4 nights in CR tower, 4 nights in AKL savannah room. THis will be our first adventure in a split stay, mainly because it may be our last family vacation now that my older son will be a senior this year, then off to college- who knows if he'll be able to or even want to accompany us again, so we decided to splurge and surprise them. (They think we're staying at CBR!) Can't wait!
