My Dad was given a cast the other day. First in his life! He isn't allowed to bear any weight on his casted leg for 3 months. We go to DL/DCA 11-15 OCT, smack dab in the middle of this three month convalescence. He says that Disney rents wheelchairs and/or ECVs,but there are drawbacks to both. $50/day for the ECV that can only be used in the parks? Or a wheelchair that can only be used in the parks?

Is there an option for DL/DCA that allows us to rent an ECV for less $$$, and/or use it to and from the hotel??

Thanks, in advance, for all of your suggestions!

There are companies in Orange County that rent them and will deliver/ pick up at your hotel. They are cheaper because they give a discount based on how long you need it. And you can take it back and forth from the park. We used an ECV for the DMIL 3 years ago. I cant remember the company or if they are even still in business. Just google it and you should find several. ALSO, he can use the key as his pass to use any of the ride handicap entries and they let 3 people go with him.

We also use Deckert's. They are reasonable, and their customer service is great.

Thank you, everyone, for your help! We are looking into Deckert's!

I'm looking into a scooter rental for my mom.

Is a 3 wheel one better than a 4 wheel one for someone who hasn't used a scooter before?

Does anyone have any prices for Deckerts scooter rentals? Those of you who have rented with them, did the battery last all day? Was the scooter fast enough/too fast?

I contacted one company because they were toll free-One Stop Mobility Inc. (disneyland scooterrentals.com) and have a quote for 4 days ($177.99 with tax)

That price is a little high. I just did 3.5 (Friday 7am-Monday at noon) days with Deckerts for $114. The batteries generally last all day. If you have any problem with the scooter, call them, they come right out.

Thanks! What kind did you rent (3 or 4 wheels)? I guess it's worth calling long distance for a quote.

Just a heads up on the three wheeled scooters, from my experience they are quite unstable compared to the four wheeled ones. Especially when getting on and off. Just something to think about.

My mom called Deckert and got a 3-wheel scooter for $135 for 4 days.
