ok so heres the deal...weeks ago i sprained a ligament in my foot. they put me on anti inflamatories the first 2 weeks, didnt help. they then gave me a cortazone shot and a steroid pack waited 2 weeks and it didnt help. so they re injected my foot with another dose of cortazone, guess what...it didnt help. so they have put me in a walking cast, and gave me a new script for anti inflamatories.i cant feel pain now but it is a pain to walk in this thing. it does kindof hurt the back of my leg a bit.stairs are a nightmare because this thing wont let me bend my ancle or foot so i have to go down steps sideways..any way. we are staying at riverside and im wanting to know can i request a close room on ground level? do i need a note from the doc or do i just tell them? obviously you can see the lovley boot on my foot. my friends named me robot foot cause its kinda big and im very clumsy in it. so any advice would be great thanks

you do not need a note from a doctor. Say "I need a ground floor room due to medical reasons" and then if necessary say you are in a cast. They will note on your reservation that you "need room on ground floor due to medical reasons".

In parks you can get a GAC which will allow you to avoid stairs. Good luck and read the FAQs about the GAC.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

What you need to do is call Reservations and explain that you need the ground floor room for "Medical Necessity". That way a room is blocked ahead of time for you.

I would strongly suggest looking through parts of the disABILITIES FAQs. If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. I would suggest looking especially at Post #6 which deals with the Guest Assistance Card.

However, for a person with a mobility or stamina situation the normal response is the suggestion that a wheelchair or ECV be rented. We strongly suggest here that an ECV berented from off-site so it is available to you at all times. Note that Posts #2 and #4 will give lots of useful information about that.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.
