My daughter said that even with the topper she has for her dorm room bed that it is still uncomfortable. She wanted me to look into a temperpedic one. I briefly looked and stopped when the cheapest one I found was in the $300.00 range. Anyone else know of any deals on this product?
thank you.

We got my daughter a Therapedic topper from Bed Bath and Beyond for her bed. She loves it so much at school, we just bought one for her bed at home. XLTwin is $99 for a 2 in., I believe.

Temperpedic is a brand name, and if you look for that, you will pay accordingly. There are tons of memory foam toppers of various brands that will work. I bought this one for my dd, she is in her second year of using it and it's wonderful. I didn't buy it with the waterproof pad, but the link for just the topper is broken, so I had to use this one...

When I did the disney college program we had terrible mattresses. I mean like plastic hospital mattress terrible. What I did was get an egg crate topper from Walmart, the cheapest memory foam topper available at bed bath and beyond, and a pillow top mattress cover from bed bath and beyond. I went when they were on sale and used the 20% off coupon that is always available. By the time I put it all together I had the most comfortable bed in the complex.

the research I did found that you need 4" to make a difference. I went with a 4" "clone" and my mom went with the 2" one at Kohls - when I sleep over its like there is nothing on top of that mattress!

I agree, I have a 2 inch gel pad and it's not that great.

The density of the topper is also important. Look for toppers that have at least a four pound density. I've gotten ones with lesser density and they just don't hold up well.
