Temperature "shock" at DLRP

OK, this is going to be a strange question, but I was wondering if any of you, especially those accustomed to the temps at WDW have experienced a bit of shock when you visited DLRP. I live in the Southeast section of the US and today our temperature is around 90º to 93º, which is actually a little low for this time of year. With the exception of December-March, our temperatures are very similar to WDW.

In looking at the climates for Paris, it seems that the average temperature for August is 72º and July is around 70º. Those are the months we are considering for a visit, so what are the morning temperatures like, and at what point in the day are the max temperatures reached? I'm afraid we will look a little silly wearing sweaters or light coats while everyone else is in shorts!

I generally find it is fine to wear shorts all day at DLRP in summer. It may be a little chilly first thing and if you stay up really late into the small hours but even at 10/11/12 pm its ok. I guess it does just depend on what you are used to. I'd imagine on your trip you'd soon get used to the temp. It's generally pretty humid in Northern Europe (France/UK/Germany) so that might make it seem warmer compared to home (not sure how humid it gets near you - i know WDW gets pretty bad at times).

Then again you won't look out of place with a light sweater or long trousers. iIt always amazes me how many people you see out and about in blazing hot temps in jeans and a thick jumper (same goes for WDW and DLR - astounding 97 degrees and someone wears a winter jumper)

If you want temperature shocks go in winter when the lake is fully frozen over and rides are closed because of ice on the tracks - now that's cold!

We've been in the summer and in 2006 it was very hot!!! But when we last went in April this year, my husband still wore shorts as he can't stand being too hot, he prefers to be cooler than hot.

I think you'll be fine in shorts in the summer...

I agree with your other half!

Its best to pack a bit for all weathers, then that way you're prepared for any eventuality!

I've been when the lake was frozen over and you are right about the cold! Ice and frost also makes the area between the parks and the village a nightmare to walk across without slipping, not to mention A LOT of Adventureland.

Even in May it's too hot for me! I am so nervous about the weather next week - get the feeling I'll find it a bit too warm!

Though my first trip to DLRP was in January. It was around 35 degrees Fahrenheit (1 or 2 Celsius?) and that was blimmin' freezing!

We went for a day in early July... It was chilly, windy and rained off and on... even with our light jackets we were still cold and had to leave earlier than planned as evening came and it got downright cold!

Hoping that in September its not too hot and not too cold...i can wish can't i ;)

We were there July 1st and 2nd. The first was hot (88+) and very crowded. The next day was cooler (77) and cloudy, it didn't start to rain until we got to the car in the parking lot that night though.

It's very hard to tell what the weather will do! The first week or two of our trip was hot and sunny, the last two weeks was cold and rainy. It reminded me of being home in Seattle. :lmao:

We were there last week and were at the Park for 8.00 am each morning and left it after 11 pm each night (we did have a break in the middle! :scared:) and after the first day didn't bother with jackets as it was warm enough for us without. It wasn't a particularly hot week though - we were never uncomfortable. In fact it was just right for us.

We are just back from Disney Paris as well. It was not too hot or not too cold for us. There was shower on one morning though. It is good to take some waterproof jacket, me thinks.

Don't worry about that! We got back a week ago and had lovely hot weather, well it was hot for us ~ we're from the south of the UK and were comfortable in shorts and T-shirts. There were lots of Spanish and Italian guests at the same time ~ I guess they were finding it cooler than at home because they were tending to wear long trousers, hoodies, sweatshirts. We even saw one family in thick coats and scarves. So don't worry, wear whatever you feel comfortable in!
