My boys will find out about their surprise trip to disney on the 17th. we are leaving the 29th but wanted to allow them some time to get pumped about it, look at the videos, etc.
I am planning a scavenger hunt with little 'trip' clues such as swimsuit, camera, sunglasses, lanyard, etc. My boys are 7 & 4 so they will assume this means the beach since that has been our vacation in the past BUT..when we ask them if they have figured it out and they can't I will tell them there is one final clue....a treasure box for each of them containing a sign that says "surprise we are going to_______(purposely blank)", their autograph book, trip planning video, a calendar with green mickey heads to count it down and the best piece..shirts made with Mickey & friends that says Happy Birthday Andrew (& David..one for each of them), 1st family trip to WDW October 2006.
My 7yr old will have it read in no time, the 4 year old will be totally reacting off his brother but I am sure all of the Mickey stuff will help him figure it out. We are SOOOOOO looking forward to telling them. have been planning since January (well really since they were born

but made the reserv. in Jan) and have lots to celebrate on this trip..see sig.

(I really like these dancing smiley heads!!)
Their grandparents.all of them... my brother & family are all coming over for dinner and the 'surprise show'. Also, Mickey is calling during dinner to say Happy Birthday (early) and that he hears they are going somewhere special to celebrate. WHOOO HOOO!

I can't wait! Can you say...camera'SS will be rolling !!
I think it will be an awesome way to tell them, esp boys with the whole pirate treasure thing. They are also going on the pirate cruise...but that is whole other surprise when we get there
Good luck to all of us out there trying to keep the surprise in...it is hard but so worth it! So many times I wanted to just break down and spill it but decided to just do it a few days before so they can join in on the packing and getting Disney excited!
