Tell us your Pirates game tips and hints

Thought it would be great to share anything you have learned from playing the new pirates game. I can't be the only one who is a bit confused!

Thanks for all of your great advice.

A few things for me:

If you are playing catch the flag, definitely pick the Black Pearl~it is fast

If you are playing Battle Game, pick the last one (wicked witch?)~it has the most fire power

Don't stand still, sea monster will get you

If you turn into a life boat (which by the way I think is terribly funny), go back to your base and you will get your boat back.

Slow computers: In battle, use the Wicked Winch because you have a better chance of hitting. In Capture the Flag, use the Wicked Winch to guard your flag.

Fast ocmputers: In battle, use your prefernce. In Capture the Flag, use the Black Pearl to grab or escort the enemy flag.

I have the message to visit Blackheart to play on level 3, but I have clicked on him over an over, logged out and back in, and still can't play on level 3.

Am I doing something wrong?

I've been having the same problem. I think it's just an error with VMK. Wait until tomorrow, is my guess.

Battle mode

Always be the middle ship, it is stronger and has more fire power, speed does not matter in it.
Never use AI's on battle mode because it minuses your points to build.
Always get at a good angle and if you get gold bullets one shot takes out the enemy.

Capture the Flag mode
Always use the black pearl. You need speed in capture the flag unless you are gaurding the flag.
Make sure one person is on your flag, another is by the oponents flag, and 1 or too more is going after oponents flag
Make sure not to let your oponent grab your flag.
If you are about to die and a team mate is by you then drop the flag let your team pick it up.

The Black pearl has its down side but if you are good at menuvering this is the ship for you. the only time I have lost credit is if I play with any AI players seems very poor credit even if you win it is touch and go on break even

Also, there is one part where you have a little opening between two rocks. Put your ship in that little area. It is the easiest way to protect your flag.

If you have the flag and you turn into a life boat and you are close to putting the flag on your side keep rowing. It looks really funny but I manage to get the other teams flag on our post in my rubber dingy. So cute and I ended up big again with dignity. Woot Woot.

Also If Littlebelle can play this pirates game anyone can. I know it took me Almost a year to get out of level I the first time around.

I like the life boat. Of course, I was such a mean pirate, when the Port Royal team member was in hers, I blew her up. No getting back to port for THAT crew member. Arg.

Have one person get the black pearl (fast boat) and go for the flag. Have another get the Winch and defend the flag.

Captuer the Flag-Make sure someone on your team has a black pearl and another as winch and don pick the flying dutchman unless you are a beginner.Winch stays at base to guard flag black pearl gets flag. Never play with four people on one team(the levels are to small).

Hmmm a tip... spent most of my time tonight *trying* to get blown up for friends lol, but... initially the most annoying thing I found about this game was the lack of room to move about --- no high seas here unlike in the original! However, all those land masses in your way do provide great cover. Use them to your advantage!
