some have been claiming that a fast pass + can be used multiple times within the reservation window, meaning if you have a fast + for BTMR from 1:05 - 2:05 then you can ride more than once in this time frame. Has anyone had experience testing this out?

It was true back in October if you didn't scan your band at the second set of scanners before getting on a ride. I don't know if it's still true today.

Ok, you are confusing yourself. It goes like this.

Adult 1: has FP for SM, adult 2 and toddler get rider swap (seriously you kind of have to keep the other child outta sight for this to work correctly).... Adult 1 rides SM and then adult 2 and child ride using rider swap

Adult 1: has FP for speedway, adult 2 and toddler get rider swap...adult 1 rides speedway and then adult 2 and child ride using rider swap

Adult 2: has big thunder FP, adult 1 and toddler get rider swap....adult 2 rides big thunder and then adult 1 and child ride using rider swap

Adult 2: has splash FP, adult and toddler get rider swap....adult 2 rides splash and then adult 1 and child ride using rider swap

All 3 have Pirates FP ride all together including toddler.

If child is aged 7 or older then have child use their other 2 FPs on other rides that you are willing to sit out on. Or try to sweet talk one of the adults onto the ride with him if the child isn't over 7.

Thanks! We've been to Disney a few times but never needed child swap until last year- and even then we didn't figure it out until Day 4 when my oldest wanted to ride Splash Mountain 432 times in a row. He's disappointed that it will be closed for our next trip, but will be riding BTMRR at least twice

The only real downside I see to this in comparison to FP- is that if they do scan the bands the second time around, I won't be able to go on with him the second time if his Mother is afraid.

Rider swap is a physical ticket and valid for up to 3 people. They don't scan bands for rider swap. You can use your FP and the rider swap ticket with the child if your wife decides to sit out.

Well why does Disney have it that everyone in your party has the option to choose which attraction to fastpass??!! why should the people who have children be punished and not be allowed to choose to make a fastpass of their choice? every parent is an individual and it's my understanding that every individual has a choice of which attraction they want as a fastpass

Obviously, my observation was about the comment above mine on ways to maximize the fastpass. My example is that at Soarin' we were unable to use the child swap to our advantage. Because even though one adult#1 had to wait with the baby, the Adult #2 rode with the older children. We couldn't "double dip". We could have chose to not do fastpasses but use the standby line to child swap... but that didn't make sense.

My husband or myself could choose to fastpass anything we wanted. But we both wanted Soarin... I don't really understand your comment.

I'm really surprised that you were told to stand in the standby line to do a rider swap when you had a FP. Does that also mean that the second party would have to ride alone if you chose to use FPs only? I mean, who wants to stand in the standby line for Soarin'...EVER!?! Part of RS is being able to ride with someone else and not have to go solo when the second adult rides. That doesn't seem fair, especially when the rest of the rides don't follow that same idea.

It is definitely not the norm even for Soarin. I was likely a new CM or a rouge CM. Either way, it was a stupid thing for them to say/do.

Agreed. We used FP+ and RS together at Soarin in October. Very likely a new CM.

Whether or not it is the "norm", it is the proper enforcement. Read the page on the Rider Switch. One person waits thru standby. If you are riding FastPass a RS is not needed!

RS is not "bonus FP for ppl with kids" as some like to assert. It is so ppl w kids do not have to wait thru the standby line twice to ride once.

RS has always allowed the child to ride twice because Disney understands a parents desire to experience things with their child. My DH and I have ridden Soarin' plenty of times but never with our child so it will be amazing for us to see it through his eyes. That's why we are going to Disney with our kids in the first place. I don't want to leave my boys with a stranger in the room or use another child care service. I want to experience all Disney has to offer with my children. I'm sure that the very small amount of children that ride twice due to RS does very little to the overall wait time, otherwise Disney would reconsider allowing it.

sorry but.you are incorrect. Rider swap is designed for the child(ren) to ride twice. If you dont like that then too bad for you.

Rider switch was implemented to allow those parties who have individuals who either can not ride due to a height requirement, or those children who do not want to ride, to ride without having to wait in line twice. The side affect of this Disney policy is it may allow a guest to ride twice because Disney allows 2 guests to enter the attraction per rider switch pass.
