Tell us the ways to beat fast pass+

I still don't know what to do.. help help help!!!!!!

do I change my fastpass selections so one of us gets a fastpass and the other parents gets a rider's switch pass for our height restricted children???? Are the CM's strict and only allow both parents to have a fastpass selection to obtain that rider's pass??

Don't know about using it with FP+, but when we went last April we had no problems getting rider swap passes and then going through the FP line. Allowed us to have half the group have a FP for one ride and the other half to have it for the other ride.

Can you have 2 active bands or are they connected to the same park ticket? Since they are sending out new ones right now with each trip.

Does the magic band have to go through the entrance to the park turnstiles to be activated for the rides that day? Or are they activated already and going through the turnstile has nothing to do with it?

Absolute truth here. The DAS will be extremely exploited until some better way comes along. Expect to see a lot of visitors with their little das books setting up their return time quasi fast pass.

And yet many people who need DAS cards have invisible disabilities. So while you're walking around judging everyone who you see with a DAS card (but you think they're abusing the system instead of actually needing the card), there is probably a good chance there is something wrong with them that you couldn't see.

Was wondering this same thing. If husband and 1 of the kids want a day at the pools and I go to the parks with one of the other kids can we book fastpasses on the ones that aren't going to the parks that day and use them?

I thought it would be tied to admission at the turnstiles like in the past, but somebody reported on here that they used their MVMCP ticket for admission and still used their MB for fastpass + before the 7:00 party start time.

Yes that is what I would like a report of also... One person taking an extra magic band and using it while the person connected to the band choose to stay at the resort???? Any input would be great!

It will unfortunately.

So they had to cut down the benefits of the GAC to make it less worth it to commit fraud...however, at the same time they cut down the number of FPs you can get, putting a hard limit on the number. Now they made the DAS look more appealing. Sigh.

I think it has to be used for park entry to work. If not, then someone could start a booming business by buying annual passes and loading up the bands with FPs for a week's rental. You could buy two tickets and use them both but I think you would have to exit and park and come back in...if my first sentence is true.

Yes, you can have multiple MagicBands associated with your MyMagic profile, and you can use whichever one of them you like, as long as your tickets are associated with your profile and each band. And you can associate the ticket with multiple Magic Bands via that profile.

If you go stay onsite 3 times this year, you are going to end up with 3 magic bands, each of which are attached to your personal profile, and each of which has your ticket(s) and/or APs associated with it.

The magic bands are always active, so to speak. The RFID chip in the band is always readable, anytime anywhere, with the correct equipment (until the battery in the band dies, which presumably will take years). The band being "alive" is not what gets you into the park. As to whether your band works on the park entrance scanner, it only works if you have an active AP or ticket associated with your MyMagic profile. And of course you provide a matching fingerprint.

When you approach an entry scanner, and put your band next to it, the system reads the RFID in the band. Then it hops out to the central computer system(s) to check if you have a valid admission media attached to your profile, and a fingerprint to match against. If you don't have an active ticket or AP associated with your band, when trying to enter the park the Mickey head will stay blue, and the CMs will pull you aside to figure out why you don't have admission media set up correctly (which could be as simple as resetting your fingerprint, or as complicated as sending you back to the ticket booth to buy a ticket, or to add an association for a valid ticket you bought elsewhere and carried in yourself).

Right now, because we had 2 onsite resort trips with MagicBands, our Annual Passes are associated with 2 sets of MagicBands and we can use either band to enter a park, on a per person basis. So I have my two bands, my spouse has his two bands, etc. We picked different colors for the first and second trips. ;p

I hope that helps...

Thanks for the reply however you can still only get 3 fast passes since they are connected to the same ticket? and will either one give you park entrance as well as charging and let you in your room?

Correct! Only 3 passes per person, per ticket, per day.

Unless you are crazy enough to buy multiple paper admission media, leave and re-enter the park, at which point you could have 3x fast passes per paper ticket you purchased. :D

As far as room charging and room locks - you would need to make sure at the resort that whichever one you wanted to use for the room, worked for the room; they might ALL work even if they were from a prior trip, but we didn't try it. Mainly because NONE of ours worked the whole trip. We had to use KTTW cards for the resort.

Damn fair points.

And anyone in the party can get the time for the return DAS. Doombuggies may not even be seeing the disabled person. The disabled person only has to be there when the pass is actually used.

Except that comment was tongue-in-cheek (hence the ;)), and I don't believe restricting "super-use" was a primary motive for scrapping legacy FP. I believe you do, however, and I can respect it if I can't bring myself to agree with it. :goodvibes

The belief is based on factual information from people who work for Disney that actually do know. I would not have an opinion about it otherwise.

Your bus driver buddies don't count. :lmao:

75% wow that is a high number. I guess I am just "reckoning" like you are so I have no proof.

Just a quick read on the other section of the boards and other places you learn "key" words you need to say to gain access. Obviously there is no guarantee. It now is about explaining why you can not wait in the line. .
The "type" of GAC received has always depended on the level of disability. Although, some CM's did not differentiate...used their own discretion.

Not true. Disabled guest must allow their photograph on the DAS or show photo ID to reserve a return time.

Your first sentence is false. Sorry. I know this as a fact.

This was info I provided in my initial posts way back in July.

So, I've already received misinformation from Disney? Not a surprise.

Yep. disabled person only has to be there for the return and ride. So basically, get one or two people in a party to get the DAS and then you have runners go set up return times for the group and essentially you have two additional loads of fast passes but in this case you will definitely get more than three fast passes a day for the group per each DAS patron.

Yep that's wrong. It is setup in a way that helps keep people who may meltdown over not riding immediately, away from the ride until it is time to go. They will have their pic on the card unless you are not comfortable with that and then their adult or caretaker can have their photo on the card.
