I finally had to search on-line to find out what Sally Lund Bread is, what a history. Thank you all for the information, I will be having tea in November with my Aunt and I'm so looking forward to it. I think the most important part of the tea is to pace yourself, I can see enjoying the cheese plate, the tarts, the little tea sandwiches, it all sounds so wonderful!

I just did this with my son (5) while DH was golfing. It was amazing. I have wanted to go since I listened to Julies review of it on DISuplugged. I am in love with this. I had the Buckingham Palace and my son had the Kiddie tea service. He choose all PBJ's and strawberry tea with 2 pastries. He ate every bite and finished his tea. He loved the sugar cubes. I choose the shrimp salad, chicken salad, pear with gorgonzola. My fav was the shrimp salad and grilled pear. I asked for two scones and skipped the tart; this was a great move!!! Those scones are heavenly. I had the strawberries and cream too. I was stuffed full and it was a really great meal. We did the latest service at 4:45 as an early dinner. My rose was really pretty and lasted for a whole week. Definately do this. You will love it.

Ooooh, I can't wait to try this! We have a 2 p.m. ADR in July and DD and I are so excited! DH is skeptical, but I think he'll be fine especially from hearing that it's not just a female thing!

I am thrilled to read all of these great reviews. I actually stumbled upon making reservations for our tea when I was trying to find an alternative to the tea party for little girls. (My DD is just 2 and not old enough.) I'm so happy that I did. My mom, DD, and myself will be having tea on July 31. I am giving it as a gift to Mom for Mother's Day. I found an awesome seller on etsy that makes tea party invitations and she worked one up for me that is a Mother's Day card with all the details. I'm so excited!

We loved all the cheeses when my Dsis and I went on Mother's Day.

There was a selection of five cheeses, along with melon, delicious strawberries, and raspberries that actually tasted like raspberries (not just mush)! Served with that are Pepperidge Farm crackers. Great for two to share.

I remember four of the cheeses: truffle tremor (soft with rind), Boursin Garlic and Herb (soft), Irish Cheddar, and a savory sage (semi-hard). The other was a white semi-hard cheese, perhaps another cheddar.

Oh, and to answer a question that I posted here last month: You can order a pot of coffee instead of tea to go along with the preset combos (i.e., Buckingham Palace, Grand Tea, etc.).

Yes. You definitely need to make an ADR for this place.

If your DD loves going to tea already, then take her . We took our DD when she was 3 and not completely potty-trained, and she loved the Mrs. Pott's Tea. But she also had ants in her pants which kind of made it less than a relaxing experience for us, and we were worried that she might accidentally damage the fine china. I also took her to the potty right after we placed our order. We all enjoyed our food, and we don't regret going with our DD3, but it is a MUCH more relaxing experience without a little one, IMO .

I don't see where your DD's being potty-trained or not would affect your experience. You may just have to get up and change her in the middle of your tea, just as if you would at a regular meal. The servers don't rush you, so don't worry about that .

RE: child not potty trained.....the restrooms are actually quite close by and if she gets really really squirmy you could always ask for the rest "to go", they have a little child size sitting area in the lobby with cartoons on you could "finish" at.

Also, you can ask for a window seat, there is always a lot going on outside to look at too! I was lucky enough to see a bride taking pictures.

Also, asking again about the iced teas. Does anyone know what kind of iced tea is available?

DS14 (11 then) and I had the grand tea the last time, and found that it was enough to count as a light meal. We did want dinner, but it was very light (split a sandwich and had some cookies). We probably could have eaten a cheese plate too, to be honest. We're leaving in less than a week, and have ressies for next Thursday, yay! We'll probably do the grand again, and we're both big Earl Grey fans.

We have ressies for this coming Saturday 5/29!

I asked the question a couple of posts above about ordering some blue cheese and dh and I each getting a Buckingham Palace. Still wondering if that would be too much to eat. Actually I know we could eat it but I just don't want to make a fool of myself by ordering both.

I probably won't get back to tea until 2012 or 2013 as we're planning on Disneyland and the Disney Cruise in the next couple of years.

You will have to try High Tea on your cruise!!!!
