For our next vacation to WDW we would like to stay at a monorail resort particularly CR. So, I'm wondering what was your favorite thing about CR? Also, are there any special things about it we should check out? TIA!

::MickeyMo Our favorite things about CR...
We really like the tower rooms. We were lucky enough to face the Magic Kingdom, so of course it was great to fall asleep watching the castle change colors. We also really like their game room. Big enough for everyone to enjoy. My kids love getting those tickets, and turning them in for prizes. In addition to being on the monorail line, you can also walk to the Magic Kingdom, which was a nice fun little walk. I think we were on the 5th or 6th floor, so my kids thought it was neat just to watch the monorail go by, which I think was on the 4th floor. I have to say we all enjoyed the pool. It was never crowded, the kids, including my husband enjoyed the slide. In the morning they had a little "mock magical moment," to get all the fountains turned on at the pool. It was cute. Plus, CR has Sammy Duvall's where you can rent most, if not all the water craft's available for rental on Disney property. :wizard: Whatever you decide have a great time!!

The last time we were at CR my wife had always wanted to go Parasailing and guess what, her first time was at Disney around bay lake. She loved it, the boat takes off from CR marina and was $ 85.00. We were out about 1/2 hour and she thought it was worth the price. She could see all over MK. We have stayed there several times and like it, some dont, but we like them all.

I can only echo what's already been said :) We love the location- nothing beats lying in bed at night and watching the castle change colors. The walk to MK on our first day is one of our favorite times of our trips. We also enjoy walking back to our room from the MK at night- no waiting for transportation. Being close to the monorail is so cool, and I'll admit it, I've been known to open the door to our room just so I can hear " it's party time " from Chef Mickey's :)

we stayed in a wing room ........we loved it so much we stayed an extra night :)
loved the patio and the quietness of the area ( we were at the very end of the south wing, pretty much right under the monorail tracks )
we loved everything about the CR.....but the room location and the dining we my favorite :)
and of cousre the shopping :0, and the monorail....

OK we loved it ALL!!!!!!!!!!
cant wait to get back someday :) :wizard:  :earsgirl:

I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else, and we did go and look at several other resorts. We stayed on the 12th floor. The extra money was worth it, for 5 people, we got breakfast everyday we stayed, the mnoey worked out to about the same as if we would have stayed on a lower floor. We got a Magic Kingdom view and it was just wonderful, watching the fireworks from our balcony every night. The little one just loved running in the room everynight to get the chocolates off the pillows. When your traveling with little ones the monorail can't be beat, you don't even have to take them out of the stroller. And I have to agree the arcade is great, the kids need a little wind down time after being in the park all day and this is a great place to go. Next year we will definatly stay at the Contemporary and on the 12th floor.

being able to walk to MK. my kids were not quite 3 when we stayed at the CR. If they feel asleep in their strollers we just hit the path home. so much easier than dealing with any mode of transportation.

I also loved CA Grill - but you can eat there regardless of where you stay.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I can't wait for our next trip (and we just went in May):teeth: !

The money worked out about even...was it because of the savings for food alone or was there another reason? TIA!

LOCATION!

But I have the feeling that after the rehab is over, people will love the decor (or at least the flat screen TVs).

We just booked the CR 12th floor concierge for late September. Were the rooms renovated by any chance?

When are you going in Sept? I tried to book two rooms on the 12th floor about a month ago and they said there was not any availability. We are going Sept 25 thru Oct 1.

Do you have kids? The arcade there is pretty good and a nice break from the parks. You can play games for tickets like at Chuck E. Cheese, but the prizes are better. :)

We have stayed 2x on the 14th floor and really enjoyed it. We had water view both times and we loved the view.

Do you know when the rehab will be over?
