different websites recommend different limo companies...any searches for reviews turn up older reviews (2002 - 2005)...I know FL Tours is the sponsor for this board but has anyone here used FL Tours lately and how was your experience?

I haven't used them for a few years. I did have an issue with them back in '06 (I think it was '06). Had to go in search of the driver at MCO, then he refused to make a quick stop for some snacks/drinks, saying that nothing was open because it was Thanksgiving day (it was 11am, and we knew a convenience store would be open). I had been assured on at least 4 occasions that a grocery stop would be possible that day. Then, we had to go in search of the driver when we were ready to leave the resort. AGain, he was way off, down the road, having a smoke.

I know that there were some issues when ownership changed hands. I booked them again last Dec, but had to cancel since my plans changed. They did call me to follow up which I found to be refreshing. Seems they are really trying to get their reputation back.
I can't say how they are right now...just wanted to share my experience from several years ago.

Thanks G4T...I always rent a car but my son and his girlfriend (who will officially become his fiance during the trip) doesn't want to rent a car but use a limo service...every Disney site recommends a different service and reviews of those company's turn up some real horror stories...I just don't want them to start their trip off on a bad note.

We used them in May for our trip to the Port from Pop Century. They called us two days before our pick up (on our cell) to confirm time and location of pickup. They then called us the day before to let us know they had a cancellation and would we like to move our departure up. We were scheduled to be picked up at 9:30 so we moved it to 9:00am. We got to the meeting spot about 10 minutes early and I driver was there waiting for us. He was very nice and professional. The towncar itself was a little beat up (inside and out), with over 200,000 miles on it, but it was clean and we had no problems. The driver did not talk to much, just pretty much drove us to the port and dropped us off. I paid in cash and had to ask for a receipt, but he gave me one with no problems. Overall the trip was fine, and we would use them again.

Just got back home 10/7. Used FL TOURS towncar and had no problems. This was the second time we have used them and would not hesitate to use them again.

Used them twice (3/09 & 9/09) for returns to MCO and would definitely use them again. Drivers were prompt, extremely professional and courteous, and quick to help with our luggage. Town car was very clean and comfy. Got dropped off right at curbside checkin which was very nice. FL Tours confirmed my reservation prior to my trip both by email and tel. I rec'd feedback emails upon returning home for both trips. I wouldn't hesitate to use them or recommend them to others, based on my experience. I had to modify the 3/09 reservation, and they were very accommodating. Very nice customer service!

As I said...it would seem that they are really trying to improve their customer service and it would appear that this it the case. Nice to hear. Thanks to all who have shared their experiences. We all need this info in order to make good choices.

Hi!

We also used Florida Tours on our last trip... Sept 12-19th. We were surprized with a limo at pick up & had the town car we booked for our return. Both trips were great. The limo driver was so friendly & happy to be surprizing us with the upgrade. The cars were both very clean, we have used other services in the last few years that didn't seem as clean. I really hate getting in a dirty car! We used Florida in May of '08 & both then & now the drivers were at our pickup about 5-10 mins early, so there was no worry we would be late for our flight. We also got the already mentioned e-mail reminder & a customer survey after the trip. I am planning to book them again in Dec.:)

My friend and I used in early September. It was her second time to try this service, and the driver was nowhere to be found at pick-up time on either trip, both times purportedly because of flat tires. On the return trip, they were apparently waiting at Jambo while we were at Kidani (where they dropped us off). Had our flight not been delayed, we would've missed it. I definitely won't be using them.

We used them in August and had a great experience. We went from MCO to the Dolphin and then from POP to MCO a week later. The driver was prompt and courteous. I would definitely use them again.

I have used them on my last two trips and both times the driver was NOT waiting for us when we got to baggage claim. Both times they claimed a flat tire. Plus going back to the airport the last time they were waiting for us at Jambo and we were at Kidani - where they had dropped us off and where I made a big deal of telling them to pick us up... So I am here looking for a different service.

It sounds like that when they are late...the standard response is to tell people they got flat tires.

Just wanted to report back that my son and his now fiance (they got engaged during Wishes!!!) had a great experience with FL Tours...they were picked up Monday 11/16 and the driver was waiting for them with a sign in the luggage pick up area...they had a 30 minute grocery stop...he said the car was very clean and the driver was very friendly...they got picked up at the BWV on Friday 11/20 and the driver was 10 minutes early...again the car was clean and the driver was very friendly... I may now consider using them instead of renting a car for our next trip.

Thanks for sharing the your experiences. We have the on reserve for a luxury van to pick up 8 people. We have never used them before and are a little nervous about it. Feeling a little better now after reading the posts here.
Thanks.

We use them every year, since we stay at the Swan. My parents used them this week, and things went great. Darrin usually gets "stuck" with us ! I have never had a bad experience, and have used them at least 8 times through the years.

While I understand this is a somewhat old thread, I have just noticed something and in all fairness to FL Tours, it should be mentioned. I am going to assume that these two DISers were traveling together. Way too big a coincidence that they had exactly the same experience...flat tires and not being picked up at Kidani.
Just want everyone to be aware..in case someone searches, down the road, and comes across this thread.

We used them once for pick up at MCO last May. We had to call the company because the driver was late. When he arrived, the driver's explanation was a traffic jam--which is possible. The driver took my rolling baggage and not DH's (DH has a bad back), there was a car seat installed in the back seat of the car--we don't have children--and we were crammed in with this thing in the back seat. Since I booked with FL mostly to relieve poor DH's travel stress--he hates flying and airports with a passion, but flying is the only way we can get to Florida--I doubt I'll be calling them ever again!
