Tell me your best Fantasmic viewing strategy

Hi,

We usually try to view Fantasmic at least twice during our visit to DL. Anyone have a good strategy for getting a great viewing spot for Fantasmic?

In the past, we usually head over to Splash and HM ahead of time so that we are in that part of DL before they start roping things off. We have been able to sit at River Belle (outside), but I'm not sure we are willing to go there hours before just to secure a spot. I'm not really interested in paying for the Fantasmic package either!

Our kids are teenagers now, so the later Fantasmic view time would be fine.

Any ideas?

There's a late show on Fridays @ 11:30 and there's plenty of good spots around NOS. There isn't a bad seat. I like seeing it later bc it's the last thing that I'd see and do in the park that's magical.

On our first ever trip to DL which was sadly prior to ever finding DISBOARD we had no idea what Fantasmic was (I know it is hard to believe) and we couldn't figure out why all of these people were standing around near the river etc and after standing around for awhile not knowing what was going on decided that this was the perfect time to head to the parking lot and get out of there. (we only had one day in the park that time) but then came DISBOARD and I learned all of the ropes and tricks for DL. My best trick for Fantasmic seating is quite honestly RESERVED SEATING! I did it two years ago when the entire family went and wow is all I can say! I am disappointed that the balcony is now gone but will try and get riverside seating!

Unofficial Guide suggests doing the later show by hanging around in NOS and Critter country and doing those rides, while the first F! and the fireworks are going on. Then there is a mass exodus from the Rivers area toward Main Street, and you are coming down behind from Critter Country, on the heels of all those people who are now leaving. Others, who are trying to get to the Rivers area from Main Street after the fireworks, are fighting against the current, so you have an advantage. I have not yet tried this myself, but have heard that it works pretty well and you can get front row seats next to the Rivers this way. Good luck!

We find a spot on the walkway above the entrance to Pirates. We go there at 10:25 for the 10:30 show. This worked for us last November. You might need to get there a bit earlier during the busier times.

Thanks for the replies...

I guess our strategy that we've used in the past has worked pretty well...

We usually find our way over in Critter Country prior to the first showing (if there are 2 shows) and have been able to grab a spot.

Thanks again!

CMs have always told people to keep moving on the bridge over pirates...at least every time I've gone...

I agree. What we did was get food at French Market and when it let out, we quickly made our way as far down as we could sat and ate our food until the show started. Got RIGHT up front.
