We have a gift card for Rainforest Cafe so we plan to use it one night in Animal Kingdom. Tell me good things about it, please. My kids will be 8 and 12 when we go.

The atmosphere if fun and the food is ok. They also have a great gift shop.;)

Is it a Landry's Gift Card? If it is you can also use it at Yak N Yeti and TRex (just to give you a few other options).

It is. That's good to know in case we don't use it all, we could use it at the Yak N Yeti counter service. Haven't done TRex...is it the same as Rainforest?

I think you can only use the gift card at Yak N Yeti TS ...not the CS.
TRex is pretty much the same thing as Rainforest in terms of the food, but the atmophere is all about Dinosaurs. We have a RFC close to home, so we prefer TRex.

I only have experience with the Rainforest Cafe in MGM Grand in Vegas, but my DH and I enjoyed it. I remember the ribs being good.

We all enjoyed RFC when the kids were younger. Too noisy for me now but we were there a couple of weeks ago and the apps were delicious (we all had them for our entrees). The adult beverages are tasty too :)

Nachos are good and the Volcano for dessert is HUGE!

ITA with the others.. food is ok, atmosphere is cool for kids. The nachos are enormous and pretty tasty. I often get that for my meal instead of an entree. The rest of the menu items I've tried have been so-so. My 8yo DD is a big eater and found the portions to be more than enough for her from the kids menu. Usually she's hungry after typical kid portion meals in the parks.

I second that for the Volcano :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2. To me it is the BEST dessert around. We go there just for the Volcano. Darn DD has to always get her way and add pounds on me :lmao: :lmao:

We really like it there. It's our tradition to eat there our first night on every trip. The atmosphere is fun and honestly, I really like the food. It's a fun way for us to start our vacation.

ETA: I'd make reservation if possible. Our first trip we didn't and had a pretty long wait, but we've been making ressies ever since and have never had to wait more than 5 mins.

Volcano..yummmmmmmmmmm! okay I'm not a fan of whipped cream but...

Fudgey brownie on a plate, piled with vanilla ice cream. Three more brownies stacked in a volcano shape around the ice cream. Whipped cream on top, drizzled with carmel and chocolate fudge sauce. Brought to your table with lighted sparklers coming out the top.

easily shared between 4 or 5 people.

I like the rainforest cafe at Animal Kingdom for breakfast. It is also good for an afternoon break, even just sitting at the cool bar and getting a big Icee.
:) We are going to Trex this trip. My ds loves dinos.

Can't remember the link, but there are 99cents award/coupon for kids meals that was posted on the budget board for Rainforest Cafe. I thought the kid's portions were very nice size, my son couldn't eat all his meal.

We usually eat at RFC at AK for lunch and have always loved it. We ate at TRex last year and I thought the food was better there but I liked the atmosphere better at RFC. So did DD. She wants to eat at RFC this year instead of T-Rex. I think you would like either one. They're both equally noisy.

You may want to check the reviews here on the DIS. It seems that most of them are on the not so great side.

Wow! Thanks for all the help, everyone. I am stoked about the volcano. Sounds like a perfect dessert for us to all dive into and share.

We like Rainforest Cafe! The inside is so cool-- I personally like it much better than T-Rex. I always get the Paradise Pot Roast and have never been disappointed!! Oh and the volcano is a MUST! yum..

We have eaten at RFC several times. We enjoy it. It is noisy, but the atmosphere is fun. I find the food to be good and the portions to be huge. Every year I plan on getting a volcano, but so far it hasn't happened.
