I am surprising wife with an anniversary trip in October, 3 nights, GF lagoon view, first time there.

Have stayed at CBR twice, ASMu once, ASMo once, and WL last year.

Tell me about all of the things that I should look for, do, plan, etc to make this a romantic magical trip!

Thanks!

That's so sweet of you. Make sure you let them know it's your anniversary. It doesn't guarantee anything, but you never know what might happen.

We were there for our anniversary this past January and it was beautiful. My husband ordered a dozen red roses from the Disney Florist and they had to be the most incredible flowers that I've ever seen. Even the vase was cute with an etched design of Mickey & Minnie. You can contact private dining ahead of time if you'd like to arrange for some surprises to be delivered to your room. We had champagne, but they also have yummy chocolate covered strawberries and a white chocolate Cinderella's slipper. Very unique.

Victoria & Alberts is the most elegant of restaurants, but you might want to consider Citrico's at the GF or the California Grill at the Contemporary. The Grill has amazing views and you can ride the monorail right over there. Narcoossee's at the GF is on the water and the food is good, but it is on the noisy side and really not romantic.

The spa is very nice and you can check out www.relaxedyet.com for a description of their services.

Just the theme of the resort adds itself to romance. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

Hey TammiMcMan - We will be going to the GF for the first time in early Dec. (9 - 13) for a holiday treat.

I really enjoy reading your descriptions of all things GF that I have seen in various threads.

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge.

We are debating between Citrico's and Narcoossee's for one of our dinners. We will have our 3 children with us, DD-13, DD-11, & DS-10. Seems like every few days, we check out the menus on Deb's AllEars and change our minds about which place to eat.

What is the view like from Narcoossee's?
Does Citrico's have a view?

What a great surprise! A friend of mine and her husband stayed at GF for their honeymoom and they had massage therapists from the Spa come to their room and they both got massages at the same time. DH and I did the same thing at AKL - it was fabulous! Afterward we ordered the in-room dining package - I'm sure something similar is available at GF. It was a really romantic part of our trip and gave us some quiet time together after all the rushing around in the parks.

Hi GoofyJoofy, small world, I'm in eastern Massachusetts. We're going to be trying out the YC concierge for the first time Dec 9-13. I couldn't pass up the Disney e-mail rate and I got Flysong for $120 roundtrip out of Boston.

The view from Narcoossee's is really nice. The restaurant is right on the edge of the lake and all the tables have a nice view out of the big windows. It looks out over the Contemporary and the Castle is a little to the left. If you want to time it right, you can get a ps to view both the fireworks and the electric water parade goes right by the restaurant at 9:15. I thought the food was really good and the atmosphere is very family friendly.

Citrico's is inside the main building and there are only a couple of tables that have a castle view. A little more upscale, but very nice also.

A number of Dis'ers reported getting an e-mail from Disney with a pin # mentioned. It advertised value resorts starting at $49 and moderates at $79 for the period 8/29-12/19. Some people didn't receive the e-mail, but when they checked with CRO, they were told that a pin number was associated with their names. If you didn't get an e-mail and you're interested in going during the promotional dates, you should probably give them a call. Rooms were limited though.

Yes Tammi, it is a small world. Nice to see other folks from MA around.

Thanks also for the restaurant info.

Thanks for all of the great ideas - I have already scheduled some spa time, and a carriage ride at Ft Wilderness.
