They're in the process of building a Kohl's right by my house, and I'm very happy about it. I've heard it's a great store.

Tell me all about it - what do you like?

I like pretty much every department except Misses and Juniors. Juniors are too skimpy on me. Misses are too big. I am not too impressed with the Toddler's department lately either. Maybe it will get better once DD gets into girls.
They pretty much take back anything. Easy return policy.

I like their prices although some say they are comparable to others if you shop around.

Watch for big sales. They have a "sale" every week/end. Some are better than others-50% off.

Great clearence prices if you pay attention and shop for the season that just ended. :)

If you wait long enough, what you want to buy will be on sale. Also, if you buy it and the price goes down, they will price match and you'll get back the difference. I've gone back just to get the difference on one item and they checked every item on the receipt.

I like that they have a decent sized Petite's Dept. ::yes::

My favorite is the clearance sales. You can get lots of things pretty cheap at the end of the season - like shoes/sandals, kids clothes, adult clothes, housewares, etc... often at 70-80% off original prices. ::yes:: I think they are also very customer friendly. You can go to their online store to get an idea of what they sell. If you sign up for their credit card you get a lot of coupons in the mail and advance word of sales - they also frequently have an additional 10% off if you use your card to buy purchases. They take care of the senior citizens with special sales just for them. Kohl's came to our neck of the woods a couple of years ago and I've been shopping there a lot ever since. :)

I was in Kohl's today today looking for bedding. I shopped everywhere in town looking for bedding.

Compare them to Penney's , I guess. They do carry some brands like Laura Ashley you can'f find in other dept stores.

They also have lots of "junk" (decorative household items).

herc.

I think I have mentioned it on another post. I have worked for Kohls for thirteen years. They are a good store with decent prices. You just have to careful with some of the brands. They tend to shrink when they are washed. I also work in customer service. Their return policy is one of the best. They want the customer happy so they will return just about anything with no time limit. You just can't expect a lot of one on one service. That will not happen. Short staffing is one of our problems. This allows the prices to remain competitive. This spring we will be getting a cosmetic line from the makers of Estee Lauder. Ashley Judd is the spokes model for the line. I'm not sure what the product will be called but it's made by Estee Lauder. So they are becoming a good place to shop. Like anything you have to watch what your buying and compare.

Even when stuff is higher priced than other stores, it is still on sale so you feel good buying it. Until you get home and realize it is cheaper somewhere else. Then you already have it home and it would be a pain to return it and rebuy it. By the time you need to return to Kohl's, you forget about this and start all over again.

It is fun!

I love the clothes!!! But not the prices. But the SALES are fabulous!!!!

I find great prices on everything.

I am glad to read they are easy on returns. I bought a vacum cleaner almost 2 monts ago now. I hate it. It does not suck up as good as I would like it. I find myself using my old one still. I still have the box, but it was in the bed of DH's truck so it got wet. I do have the reciept. Will I have problem with this?

No, they will probably label it defective and return it to the manufacturer. As long as you have a receipt you should be credited the way you paid, the amount you paid. :)

I love Kohls. It is somewhat like Mervyns if you have that near you. Kohls has great sales, lots of choices, and they are great with returns. My only problem with Kohls is that it is about 1/2 mile from my house so I am there way too often :)

I like that they have a decent selection of name brand jeans and also a lot of variety in shirts. I also have good luck finding shoes on sale there. I don't care as much for the boys' department preferring to shop at Target where oddly enough, I can't stand most of the current women's clothes.

I liked that they weren't a bad place to work for in high school. :) Just please, be kind to the workers and TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OUT OF THE DRESSING ROOMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have nightmares about clothes piled high.... :)

As a Department Supervisor, I had nightmares about Ad Sets. I actually yelled at my DH during my sleep about it. I told him that he took my signs. He said that he didn't and I insisted he did.

It was the holiday season. I was stressed. What can I say?

Don't even get me started about fitting rooms and recovery.

I swear to you, that whenever I go to Kohl's, they have exactly what I want, On Sale, Every time!

I can't believe I waited sooo long before getting their card, but one trip I was spending $300 or more, and $30+ off seemed ok, so I did it. I've been getting their additional discounts and choose-my-own-day sales ever since! :teeth:

LOVE Kohl's! ::yes::

Speaking of fitting rooms with clothes piled high - yesterday I was in Penney's and I brought in two suits. There was no place to hang the darned things because both hooks were jammed with clothes other people left in there.

Why do they do that? Is it so difficult to take them back out and hang them on the rack? And they almost always have a rack right outside the fitting room, especially for unwanted items.

I feel for you guys who work in clothing departments and have to deal with that.

I still shudder at the thought of piles of unfolded sweaters all over the tables on Black Friday!

I am an Ad Setter at Kohl's. I sent a letter to Corporate Last February and told them they are crazy changing their ads 3-4 times a week. Every and I mean every sign needs to be scanned to see if it changes and it usually does, to say the exact same thing. I don't think Ad changes have gotten better, it has gotten worse. 3 changes this week and I go in tonite-I almost have 40 hours in and I put 40 hours in my day time job this week.
