Tell me what I need to know....

I am getting ready to plan our first trip "home" to Animal Kingdom next year. We want to arrive on June 23 and depart June 30. We want a 2bedroom concierge level room ...... we are taking along mother in law. What do I need to know to make sure I am able to get this ressie?

We are also hoping to plan a Vero Beach vacation next year with our points at the end of August. Anyone have trouble booking a 1 bedroom at Vero 7 months out?

PLUS.....does anyone know when food & wine festival is for 2010 yet? DH and I would like to come down by ourselves for a few days during that time next year.

I can't believe I am scheduling our vacations for next year when we haven't taken this years' vacation yet.....we leave 8/15 for a 2 week stay at Saratoga Springs. We are so excited, DH and I made a 4 night trip to SSR in April and fell in love with this resort.....kids will love being so close to Downtown Disney.

Concierge rooms go FAST. The two bedrooms may already be booked by the time you are able to call to book at 11 months. Call right when MS opens and hope for some pixie dust.

If you want concierge, June 23-30, 2010, you should be on the phone to Member Services at 9 a.m. Eastern time July 23, 2009, to try to get it. Concierge can go quickly 11 months out almost any time of year.

F and W generally runs last week of September until first week of November. Columbus Day weekend is very crowded. This year the dates are Sept 25 to Nov 8. Special events like Party for the Senses are on Saturdays, and Sweet Sundays on Sundays. The specific listing of chefs doesn't come out until summer, making planning a little tricky. For instance I have just discovered that the theme for the Party for the Senses we are planning to be at F & W is Asian food. I have to talk this over with DH, because there are other themes we'd like better. But changing our flights and hotel ressies would be a major pain.
