I had no idea until today that there was a MNSSHP during our September trip. My 4 yo DD will be attending with my DBIL,DSIL, and their 3 yo DD. I have an ADR for the CP at 5:30 pm that I just already had that day. What do I need to know about the party? I am so excited.

About 75% of the people will be in costume.

You can get into the park around 4 with your MNSSHP ticket.

The headless horseman will ride about 5 minutes before the parade starts.

Adults grab a loot bag also and fill up on candy.

Have fun and bring lots of film.

First timer for MNSSHP here: Where does the headless horseman ride? Also, what time does the parade start and what is the route? Any suggestions on the best seating for this?

Thanks! :cheer2:

You need to know that it is the coolest event at WDW! Most children are in costume, and lots of adults are as well. (But not everyone, so don't feel like you have to dress up if you don't want to.) They have the Boo to You Parade, as mentioned, with the headless horseman riding. They also have storytellers around the park usually, one telling the headless horseman story just before he rides in Liberty Square. They have costume contests, trick-or-treating, and free photographs with your family. The villians and rare characters are out all night as well. If you can still get a table, LTT does a special meal on these nights with the characters wearing halloween masks as well and the CMs dressed up too. There is a special fireworks show HalloWishes that is awesome and special lighting and sound effects throughout the park. You can enter MK with your ticket at 4pm even though the party doesn't officially start until 7.

We were there a couple of years ago for our anniversary and were not dressed up. A lot of adults aren't, but 90% of kids are. There will be several places in the park where you can get a free picture made so get a park map and check that out. The candy spots will also be marked on the map. The headless horseman story is told in Liberty Square and he rides from the Splash Mtn. area across the bridge by Hall of Pres. and down Main Street. At least that's what happened when we saw it. The parade is awesome and the other folks were right - be sure and have plenty of camera film. And don't miss the fireworks. They are one of a kind.

Also, others have mentioned that rare characters are out during this time. They are again correct. This is the only time that we have ever seen Scrooge McDuck, Maleficent (I got my pic with her) and Cruella DeVil. Jafar was even meeting and greeting. It was very cool. You're sure to have a great time. Also, the ride waits were minimal.

Have fun!

We went last year on Halloween night! Definately a must for this Halloween lover ;)

We sat in Liberty Square, just across from the Liberty Bell I believe and had a great spot to view the Headless Horseman's ride and the parade. After we stayed put for the fireworks..which were wonderful!!

I missed out on the free family photos so be sure to ask where they are located!

Also, I don't recall there being 2 parades that night, so I must have either missed one, or the only ran one! :(

Get to Liberty Square a good 30 mins before the parade to get a good seat..grab some popcorn and enjoy! THe Boo To You parade was my favorite and I still sing the song :) Thank goodness I videoed it :)

Oh, almost forgot...they did free face painting in Mickey's ToonTown Fair last year...they're beautiful!

They change the music that plays in the park, and to my great delight they had "Come back Yeller" and "Davy...Davy Crocket" playing in Adventureland. It was so cool somehow! Walking through there I was in heaven that night, such fun! You are going to have a blast :thumbsup2 ! Also, we did CP at about 5:30 too, and it was a good choice let me tell ya! People were all dressed up and when we came out, the CM's were ushering out the peeps that weren't going to the party. There was a long line of CM's who waved us on to Adventureland and they were really nice saying how cool our costumes were and stuff. DBF was dressed in what I call his english man shorts (because they are very short, like what they wore in the 70's :rotfl: ) and a grass skirt, Stitch ears and 2 plastic lays around his neck. I heard a child comment "look dad, that man is both Lilo and Stitch :lmao: " Me I only had disco ball antenne on because I thought a costume would would be to hot. So we looked a sight, but everyone CM's included were just in their best party mood that night. It was the night that made our trip :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes !

One tip! The kids could poop out if they don't take it real easy before the party so I'd recommend that they do. It's fun to try and make it to midnight and after all, it's a bit of cash as well!

Thank you so much for all the replies. :flower:

Yes, thank you! This is making me excited for October 5!
