So, we had lunch at Crystal Palace last year and I thought we all really liked it. Well, DD16 has expressed that she doesn't want to go there again (it was the only restaurant on this tour that is repeated from previous trips).

I pulled up allearsnet's menu and it looks like the menu has changed somewhat, so I was concerned that we wouldn't like the selections as much.

I decided to book WCC at Wilderness Lodge instead and canceled CP. The CM at WDW Dining reminded me that it was an interactive experience, which I kind of knew from reading the menu at allears.

I've read nothing but good things here on the DIS, but need a little reassurance that I made a change for the better.

If I had to choose between the Whispering Canyon Cafe or the Crystal Palace, I would pick the WCC. IMO the food is better and it is a more fun atmosphere. :)

I've never been to CP, but I do like WCC. I've only been for lunch, and from what I hear, dinner is more "interactive." Your server really is a character and it can get loud. But (at least at lunch) I didn't think it was over the top at all. Each time we go, we get the skillet, so unfortunately I cannot comment on any other menu items (DH said next time we go we will not get the skillet, he wants to try the quesadillas). But definitely get a milkshake, they are wonderful!

I really liked WCC. The CM's are very entertaining, and not your average servers. The food was good as well. We were thinking of doing it this year, but since we are doing HDDMR, we are ending up doing something more varied.

We are huge fans of CP.

However, DH and I just got back from a long weekend at WDW. We ate at WCC on Saturday night. We were both stuffed and had to take our desserts to go. The food was great; the waitress was a scream (GoldRushGirl, aka Allison). We were without kids, so we were not seated in the main dining area. However, we still had a blast. And we will most definitely go back.

And we both absolutely, whole-heartedly recommend the all-you-can-drink milkshakes!
