Our best memories from our family trips to California are the beach!!! We love DL, but the beach is special. Stay at Newport. Plan on the commute, and who knows, you may decide 1 or 2 days at DL is enough! Every family is different.
Go for the luxury!!! We had a great time at Bolsa Chica Beach, my cousins live there and we had a bbq, watched dolphins jump in the surf and the sunset was incredible!! On Huntington Beach pier there is a cool kite shop, maybe get a kite a have fun with the kiddos!!
