I know it's a value resort and I'm satisfied with a basic room.

On another site that I trust, there are reviews from visitors that are awful for this resort posted for May and June 2005. Obviously, this is very current; so, I'm concerned. We are going in October. Items discussed have been dusty rooms, worn bed sheets with small holes in them, not enough towels, smoking in non-smoking rooms, rude people, messy food court, etc. One person had to leave to another room because smoke was coming in through her vents of her non-smoking room.

Is it so busy in the summer that mousekeeping just can't keep up? Is it because some people don't leave tips for mousekeeping?

I'm taking someone to WDW for the first time and it just doesn't sound magical in this resort, right now. It's a budget trip; so, I can't upgrade. I've stayed at All-Stars but never at POP before.

Are some buildings better than others? I heard more bad reviews about the 50s buildings than other ones. I want to stay in the 50s because I feel my friend will enjoy that decade the best.

Please make me feel better. Maybe, there's hope. It could be those who liked the resort just didn't write reviews for these last two months. I trust this site the most; so, I'm anxious to hear the truth.

I have stayed there 3 times now and find the POP to be just fine. I was just there 5/31-6/9 and had a blast.

I am a firm believer that you can't always believe what you read. You should go there with the expectation of having a great vacataion.

Its human nature to complain and I read an aweful lot of it on here yet these same complainers keep going back.

Have fun. I return on 8/22 for a mini precruise stay at the POP and I can't wait.

We stayed there for 1 night at the end of our week long trip to WL. 6/12

We liked it so much we want to stay there next time. Room was spotless, new, air condition was great, pool was great, food court was great. No problems.

DH and I love POP and stayed in the 50s building when we were there. My only (minor) criticism is that it was very noisy--I would suggest a room near the end of a corridor and way from elevators so you don't have so many shouting kids running by. :flower: I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and we hope to be able to get a room in POP for weekends in October and November during the Food and Wine Festival.

My son and I were in Pop from June 11 to 14, 4th floor, 60's building, facing the lake - great view. Room was 2 rooms from the elevator.

Room was spotless, bedspreads and sheets very clean, carpet looked brand new, 5 towels in the bathroom for the 2 of us to use, mousekeeping had always finished making up the room before we returned for afternoon break between 1 and 3.

Food was very good, great selection.

Rarely waited for a bus from the resort to the parks, always seemed like there was one there when we needed it.

Relax and enjoy!

I don't know where the bad reviews are, but POP is wonderful!!!!! We have stayed there two times (last one was 6/10-6/19) and are planning another quick trip there later this summer. We have stayed at several different resorts, and like POP better than some moderates. From what I have heard about complaints, it is usually about the noise level, but I have never had a problem with the noise and even had a pool view room this last trip. Give POP a try and I bet you won't be sorry. :cool1:

We were there last March in the 50s building 4th floor facing the lake. We really liked it. I had no noise issues whatsoever. That is why I wanted a 4th floor room facing away from the pool. The room looked new to me with only one small problem with a drawer broken. No big problem at all. Housekeeping was great and we had plenty of towels. One thing to remember is the airconditioning has a "guard" on it. You can only turn it down so far. I knew that from these boards so I had maintenance come and lower it for me. We actually didn't need it and got quite cold at night sometimes. DS14 loved the bowling pin pool. The food court was okay. The food was about like that in the parks at other counter service places. The decor is really fun though.

I Loved POP during my recent stay there... and I found Mousekeeping to be someof the best on property. Very attentive.. LOTS of towel animals... spotless rooms... anything you need that isn't there.. just ask and it is at your room in a heartbeat... Much better that most of the deluxe resorts I have to admit.. and I am truly a deluxe snob.. LOL!! I would stay at POP again in a heartbeat... now that I am a DVC gal.. that won't be too often. but when I need to add a day here or there.. POP will be my choice... Oh.. and Food court.. one of the best on property... All positive reviews here.. go and have a great time!

While POP Century looks pretty cool, there are obviously better places to stay. Stayed there before and I didn't find anything wrong with the rooms. They looked pretty nice and clean. I wouldn't worry about anything. :earboy2:

I have stayed there a couple of times now. The last time was in Feb 2005 and the other time was last year. This place is fun and "upbeat" and the grounds are very clean. The CMs are very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean and fresh. The mousekeeping is great. The food is delicious and lots of varieties to choose from. Though it's value resort, you still recieve the Disney service.

I am heading at the POP in two days. This would then be my 3x. I wouldn't come back to this place if this place is a bad place to stay. Enjoy. Don't worry. You will have a wonderful time and you might find yourself liking POP a lot. It's a great resort.

I love Pop! Have stayed there twice & will be staying there again in Oct. Housekeeping has always been wonderful. Cm's are nice & friendly. Can't wait to return! :cool1:

We stayed at Pop for 10 days last year and LOVED it. We have previously only stayed at the mods before and actually liked this place better. It was more fun.

My wife loved it which surprised me because she didn't brag about the moderates but loved this place. I was going to book at moderate this year, but she insisted we stay at Pop because we had such a good time last year.

We are going back this August and we can't wait.

Relax you should love this place.

You can find bad reviews at all the resorts, so take them with a grain of salt and find out for yourself.

We love POP! Actually, I've stayed in all of the value's throughout my Disney travel career as well as some moderates and deluxes. Pop is my fav followed by movies. I think the themeing is great and the rooms are fine for both of us. We look at a room as a place to crash at the end of the day. We don't need to be "pampered like a Hilton" as my gf says. If you don't mind being in a value, you'll be fine in POP!

(we are staying there for 9 nights in August!)

We loved POP (4/16 to 4/24). Mousekeeping did a great job and we always tipped. We called for towels for the pool on the first day and got a stack of about 20, so that was never a problem. Resort was kept very clean. We were in the 70's on the ground floor. Initially, I was worried about noise, but we never heard anything. Food court gets very busy at peak times. I think its all in your attitude. Some people are never happy no matter what. We had just been at WL in August 2004 and I would stay at POP again in a heartbeat.

I knew you all would come through with better reviews.

I'm back in the Disney spirit. :earsgirl:

I am also very glad to hear this good news! As everyone traveling with us this year is on a budget...since we decided to go this year and next year as opposed to only next year. :earboy2: We have always stayed in moderates before and I had become very worried as of late about POP due to some bad reviews I had read. Not anymore, after reading this thread I am more excited than ever to be giving POP a try. Thanks everyone for the restored confidence. :wave2:

We were at Pop June 5-13 (I miss it!!) and I have no complaints whatsoever! We were in 50's section pool view, 1st floor. I read some negative posts just before we went and I was a little concerned but everything was perfect!!!

We LOVE Pop! We stayed there in April and will be staying there again in October. The buses are great, the foodcourt has a huge selection and the theme is bright and cheery. :flower:
