Tell me something I don't know about POP!

Okay, i will tell you a secret i'm not supposed to tell. I went for a little "stroll" in the morning and i saw a cast member. I asked to see there pins and they told me a secret. I wont tell it to you, but it was really cool.

Thanks everyone!

I have to admit that I am afraid of the bad coffee. :scared: I need a cup to get me going in the morning. Adding the hot chocolate is a good idea - thanks for that tip!

I Always pack a 4-cup coffe maker & Maxwell House premeasured packets!:thumbsup2

The wdw coffee is well known for being atrocious!:scared:

FESS UP!!!!!!

we go for a nice hot cup of coffee

Yes, the coffee is hot, but I'm not sure of the "nice" part....LOL....

I don't love it, but I don't mind it....bad coffee in Disney is still better than nothing!

A few hints:
I DO love the espresso at the cake section in the food court. Sometimes it's a nice change from the gross coffee!!

Another thumbs up for the chicken alfredo with the penne and breadstick. Yummmm.....I could go for some right now.

Great idea for a thread!! We love the POP.

We thought the Shadow boxes in the lobby were awesome! Done by decades they will really bring back the memories with games music, and general kitsch!

also we think all the stairwells are really clever!

if you go to the back of the resort by the lake there is a bridge, go to the end of the bridge look across the lake you will see the bigest eyesore and waste of money in disney it is rest of pop the" legend years " its a legend alright.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Lots of ducks walking around!

Make sure to check out the Opo picture thread. It has alot of neat pictures.
I didn't know that there was a playgorund there till someone mentioned it after I got back.
I wish I had more time. I didn't get to eat at the foodcourt anything but a few breakfast items.
Be sure to take time and just walk around and snap pictures.

Heres a tip...at a certain time (not sure when) all the CM's in the cafeteria brake out and dance to The Hustle playing in the background.

We love Pop!! If you have the time, around the resort there is all the signs with individual years, and significant things that occured in that year. It's fun to have each member in your party get there picture taken by the year they were born!!! PERFECT FOR SCRAPBOOKING TOO!!!!! :)

Visit the Budget boards on here too...
Pop has several swaps going on. We were in the Pop Frig swap 2...It was great! They also have a coffee pot swap, and I think someone mentioned a stroller swap.
Also, make sure you take things to decorate your window and door! They had a couple of boxes being swapped around with decoration supplies but they were misplaced by Pop and now everyone is on their own...but it is still lots of fun. We done ours up with BIG with Lime Green! Everything LIME GREEN! I had several different sizes of Mickey heads, tinkerbell, cinderella, pluto. We had our screen name listed on them...Oh and crete paper and balloons. I had blank Mickeys on our door for other Dis Members to write their screen names on. It was really neat and after coming home I had a few tell me in PM's they seen our door from the pool, and had to come check it out. Another said they had to run out to the nearest store and do her windo up a little since I was showing her up...:cutie: . We were celebrating Spring break and My DS 7th b-day...so it was all of the window. I have pictures...just lazy and have never uploaded them on here yet.
Oh, not sure how many people you have in your room, but something someone told me to do after we returned may be something else for you to think about. In order to allow for a little more privacy, take a cheap shower curtain and a pressure out curtain rod to hang up between the sink area and the room area. It makes a great changing area (At least it did at POR...Disney has it that way there!)

Have fun!

How did you know I was a scrapbooker?!!! :thumbsup2

Dzny Nut - you have to tell us now! No fair teasing!

There is a ping pong table near the 60's pool. You can buy balls for 50cents at the pool bar.

Wow.. Ive been there 3 times and didnt know this!!! We are headed back to POP next weekend but unfortunately wont have time to do this.. I will have to mark it for our next trip.. I love POP!!

This will be my first stay on property in Sept., and I was worried about choosing POP over the other value resorts. Not any more!

One question...is it worth the money to upgrade to the preferred room? If so, what is the real advantage? I would like to know from y'all...someone who really knows the scoop!

Thanks so much....

I wouldn't pay for preferred. Some rooms are closer, but nothing is really that far.

A really cute spot to set up a picture is by the computer pool. There is a huge Roger Rabbit standing on a turpentine barrell. My younger son (16 at the time) was on the ground and put his feet up sort of under the barrell like it was running over him and my older son (19 then)and his girlfriend pretended like they were trying to hold the barrell back while I took a picture. It came out so cute! We had it blown up really big and they all have copies of it framed. It's their favorite picture of all of them together from the vacation.

They had a great time playing twister together and also reading the song titles on the giant 8 track tapes.

Oh, and their favorite food court selection was the chicken penne and breadsticks! :thumbsup2

The turtles/catfish in the lake like the saltines from the food court pretty well ;)

We are booked into a preferred room only because we couldn't get a regular room. I'm bummed because I wanted a lake view room and none of the preferred rooms face the lake so either I don't get the room I want or I just paid more for a room location I am not going to use.

I am going to keep calling to see if I can get a regular room but I guess for free dining I can't complain.

This is a great thread! We will be at POP for the first time in September as well. I hope this thread keeps going! I may have to print it out!

Joy13 by the looks of your ticker we may be there at the same time!

Glad this thread is turning out to have so many wonderful tips!

Keep them coming everyone!
