Tell me some of the really cool things you've done in Innoventions!

We've ventured in a couple of times, but recently I've read about some people making robots?? What other neat things are there to do?? And what is a good time to visit? When we cut through there in the mornings it always seems filled with people. Are evenings less crowded??

We did make the robots last trip and had fun. Even during slow time the "game" you play before making the "robot" was busy and took a long time. We did WIN however!!! Hint, if you don't want to do the robot race then just go around back and you can make a "robot" for free without playing the game. Also, the "robot" is just some platic parts you snap togther to make a small figure. The kids did the fire prevention game where they teach them how to get out of the house in case of a fire. They had a blast, but I was bored silly waiting for them.

We stumbled onto these activities last week as we were looking for the Disney Visa character meet-n-greet photo.

We went to the wrong side of Innoventions 1st, but while there my DSs were able to do the robot race (build a virtual robot & race it using floor controls like Dance-Revolution), build the snap together robot, play the virtual baseball & bowling games, and a couple of other things.

We usually stay away because of crowds, but wandered in during the early afternoon & it was pretty empty.

They were fun, you build your own. You race them on computer, we all had fun with that. Also you can e-mail for free, makes a nice photo.

I WISH! My DH and my sons end up in there for like two hours every time we go to Epcot. They love ocmputers and video games, and they try everything. The robot thing, the other "group race" thing, the virtual sports thing, the crush a bunch of metal thing, the who knows what this is thing...

I am begging them this year, Please don't make me go back to Innoventions!!

Just yesterday, my kids spent a lot of time with the Rockin Robots. Those are the ones that play different "Music" with things like oil drums, air hoses, etc.

Before we walk in, I set a time limit, and that's the only way we get out of there in a reasonable amount of time!

About ten years ago I put on a virtual reality helmet and played Pac-Man from a Pac-Man's eye view. I was one of the few people able to clear the level, but then was disappointed to find out that that was game over (same if you get eaten by the ghosts).

I was once held captive inside the House of Innoventions.








I don't recommend it.

We once had a free Segway ride....it was like 3 minutes long.

There was a ton of fun things to do there. In one area there was a mock house that had two sides to it. You had these magical flashlights that you can use to detect fire hazzards. My teenage boys love it and they were on the opposite team as us.

Someone mentioned the bowling. It's like a virtual bowling game. You hold the glowing ball and pretend to throw it. There is also an area with a baseball. There was also a section on plant life I think. My kids loved Innovations. If you're into learning and technology I think you'll like Innovations.

I agree with the posters who mentioned the fire game. It was a blast. There are a ton of things to do and we really enjoy going to Innoventions.

We loved Innoventions, primarily because of the CM's!

DS was 2 on our trip last April & we celebrated his birthday.

The first CM we saw at Inno saw his birthday button right away
and asked us if he'd gotten his "Birthday Phone Call?"
We said, no, we didn't even know about it!
She asked us to step over to where the Segway demos are,
she stepped into a closet & dialed up Goofy & he called back a minute later asking for our DS and wished him a Happy Birthday!

Then, we sent video email over & over again to several family
members, the CM there was very sweet & said we could send
as many as we wanted to shoot.
We just waited for whomever walked up after us,
then we stepped right back in & made another, and another, and another!

Then, we had a nice conversation with an exchange CM from
Hong Kong Disneyland - he loved showing us & helping us do this electronic
gismo where you have to do team-work to cover up things
to make lights go on & off - our DS loved it!
hint: we especially enjoyed talking to all the exchange CM's
we could find (there were many, they were training before their opening)
and we got each one to sign DS's autograph book
- writing our son's name & their's in Chinese!
The CM's really seemed to enjoy it, too.

Then, DS started having a bit of a meltdown because of so much
interaction, and another CM went behind to the robots and
built DS one and presented it to him, which calmed him down.
We still have his "bot" as he likes to call it.

As you can see, we had fun there, but I can certainly see where
it would be age-defined to how much time/fun one would have.

The fun part about the little plastic robots you make is you can see the parts being made and being sent to the building stations.

We also enjoyed going in the room that has the sound system equipment. You sit in a room that looks like a living room and it is sound proof to the outside. A great place for the guys.

My daughter loves to play Toon Town Tag in Innoventions. She would play over and over if we let her!

Subscribing to this as well, I am curious, we never go in these...........

Is there one side that is better than the others, East or West? Which side is the fire house and the robot thing in?
