We planned a last minute trip this week and we ALWAYS do a character meal with the "main" characters. Just now I was able to snag a ressie at Garden Grill for a great time and day for us. I'm just thrilled we could get anything with characters!!!

I've never really had a desire to eat here b4 and have heard some not great things- but I'm looking forward to the time w/ my boys there. They think it is SOOO cool that the restaurant moves.
We will definitely go to the Land before eating. My boys LOVE chip and dale so I think it'll be great and if the foods just mediocre, well then we'll just get a snack at World Showcase after

Anyone really LOVE it here? :)

We enjoyed our meal at the GG. The food was good (not great, but enjoyable). It's one of the only character meals that's not "crazy." You can have a peaceful meal and get good character interaction. The restaurant moves, but for us it wasn't noticeable. I guess we weren't there long enough to go very far.

We just ate there in May and I was very impressed with the quality of the food. Everything was fresh and delicious! I consider myself to be a food snob and LOVED it!!! It seemed very "organic" as the food you are actually eating is the food you see when you tour living with the land. Like I said I am very particular about my food and had no problems with it at all. As a matter of fact my DH and mom all enjoyed it as well. Have fun!

Its nice that the restaurant rotates through one of the scenes from Living with the Land

this is a great character meal, the interaction is not rushed, we had mickey sit at our table for quite awhile !
the food was very fresh and served family style, it was great eating all the food we had seen earlier on the land ride, it is pretty cool that the restaurant rotates slowly above the ride.
we had fried catfish, roast beef, fingeling potatoes, fresh chicken nuggets and the kids loved the build your own cupcake at the end, and i loved the cobbler
have a great time!:thumbsup2

Dessert.

We had blueberry buckle with vanilla bean whipped cream. It was so incredibly good. We liked the fact that it wasn't loud and obnoxious like Chef Mickeys and it was just relaxing. We had great character interaction. (I have a review in a dining report linked in my mother/daughter trip report below)

It was good enough we are going back this Oct.

We ate there Oct 09 and really enjoyed it! DH loved the turkey, I loved the beef and we both LOVED the salad. I don't know what kind of dressing they use, but it was wonderful. You could tell everything was very fresh.

Kids loved the restaurant too. They liked the food, but they LOVED the fact that the scenery for the restaurant changed every few minutes. They loved going to the glass wall and standing there while watching the ride below and trying to figure out what scene we were going into next. Plus, my DS is a HUGE "Chipndale" fan (he calls them both that) and had so much fun getting to hug his favorite characters. They were great with him!

While the food isn't "the best food ever!" It isn't bad, either. We are going back. My son and I are going to be alone for our first day this trip (DH and baby are coming in 2 days later) we are thrilled that this isn't a buffet! I can sit with him and enjoy my food without getting up every couple of seconds to "get something." The characters are great! We got the most character time there last trip and the best pictures. The rotation is cool too! My DS (3 yo at the time) noticed and loved it!

We did a number of character buffets during Free dining last year and the food was never as good as the sit-down restaurants we did. That said, Garden Grill was our favorite of the character meals!

* They bring the food, no running the buffet while keeping our 3 kids in line
* Overall tasty good food! The bread had some sort of maple-butter, it was delish
* Great for my youngest because the way the restaurant was set up, he did not have to endure seeing the characters meeting other kids when it was not his turn
* Enjoyed watching the Land go by

We didn't love it, but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. The decor didn't appeal to me at all, but the food was okay and the character interaction was really outstanding.

It is one of my boys' favorite places to eat - the great character interaction and the rotation make it so. Haven't been there since the menu changed (just a little) but the food was fine.

For me, family style is wonderful. At buffets I make so many trips that I never get a chance to relax and eat.

GG is the meal that got my daughter over her fear of the big characters. On her first trip she was 2 (almsot 3) and she lost it at CP even though Tigger and Pooh were favorites of hers... the characters were so big.. she was so afraid (more like TERRIFIED) and it made dining very stressful and we rethought the rest of our char meals. I forgot that GG was a char meal and the next day we went there and at we almost baled. Well, they sensed she was afraid and the magic chip and dale did - made it completely a different story. What they would do is get on her level and they would let her pet them and stuff. The time they spent with her at this meal - even Mickey.. well it turned everything around for us. I don't even remember the food... I remember falling in love with Chip and Dale (or "the chickendales" as my daughter calls them to this day!). The restaurant moves slow that you don't even really feel it moving. I wanted to go into the rain part but we never made that much of a rotation - bummer. I liked just sitting back and having the food and characters come to you (like Ohana) instead of a buffet.

We have always really enjoyed the food - is a favorite of ours!

Now, if you want a character meal that's fun and you say your boys love Chip & Dale - then yep, you're going to the right place! The character interaction we feel is probably the best you can get. Usually they come around twice to our table, and they do spend the time with you. And oh, farmer Mickey is so cute, and Pluto is always fun (my favorite was when he was on his knees begging for food at the table)

I was VERY hesitant to try Garden Grill our first time, thought we'd really dislike it - but I was very wrong, we really love it there!

Everytime my family (me, dh, dd19, ds17, and ds15) goes to Disney, I let each person pick a restaurant.

My DH always picks the Garden Grill. We have been going to Disney since Feb. 2000 and have eaten there every trip. We like the change of scenery. The food as always been good. The service is great, and the you can't beat the character interaction.

On our first trip, my kids were 9, 7 and almost 5. The characters sat down and colored with them. And they stayed far longer than I had expected.

We were there Feb '10 w/ 4DS. After a very long wait even w/ reservations (45 minutes) the experience was pleasant. Best part was the long character interactions. DS loved his snuggle time with Chip and Dale. Food was ok. Was nice not having to navigate the mobs at the buffet.

We thought GG was great. In fact we will be eating here again our first Epcot day. The food came out hot, tasty and served to you.
We loved the interactions with Chip and Dale (my faves) and Mickey. We missed Pluto...the CM said he would get him but we said it wasn't a big deal.
We got to request refills on the food we enjoyed the most (turkey and fish).
I think your family will enjoy eating here.
Have a wonderful vacation.
