Tell me my options

Heres the deal, me and my family are driving to FL and staying at Sheraton Vistana. My DS & DN want to fly down and stay with us. Without them renting a car and us having to drive over and pick them up from the airport, how can they get to the Vistana from the airport and how much $$ are we talking? TIA.

That helps a lot thanks, but does anyone know how much the Lincoln towncar service is? And exactly how far away is the Vistana from the airport???

If you have the time, I would just drive to the airport and pick them up. The airport isn't that far (IMHO) from the Vistana Resort - maybe 20 minutes tops? It's a very easy drive also.

Thing is with the times of their flights in the middle of the afternoon and middle of the morning we just felt like we'd loose out on our vacation time...what about a taxi would that be cheaper do you think? I guess if it's only 20 minutes away from the airport then 119 round trip kinda sounds like a lot....but since none of us are familiar with the area down there we just thought it would be easier if they got a ride out to the Vistana.

Mears (shared shuttle service) is $60 R/T for TWO adults. Can you take their luggage with you? Have them pay Mears to go a Disney resort near whatever theme park you're going to be at. Mears will probably put them in a DME bus and the service will probably be quicker than going to Vistana first.

Ok now this sounds like something we would be interested in doing. Yes we can and probably will take their luggage, DS is nervous about flying alone with her DD. Can you give me any other information about this Mears like a number or something?

Does the resort that you are staying at have a shuttle to the airport??? If so they should be able to take that.....and maybe its free???

Hey thanks never thought of that, I'll check that would be awesome. But now I'm starting to overthink this. Since we're driving down, and who knows what could happen on the way, and since I won this week off Skyauction, I'm thinking I probably shouldn't have her schedule a flight down till the day after we get there, uh? That way if we should have a break down she won't be there before us and not have a place to stay. I don't think there would be any way she could get into the Vistana without us since I won the week and it's in my name, is that correct??? Thanks

Really no reason to pay or reserve in advance. Are they going to meet you at your resort or in a theme park?

No they've never been to Disney or Orlando before so they wouldn't be comfortable meeting us at a theme park, I thought they could just go to the Vistana and meet us there, but now all the cheap flights that were open on SW are gone so I at this point we may have to wait last minute and see if anything comes open for our dates. And are you saying she doesn't have to reserve the shuttle in advance ??

Vistana does not offer any free or paid shuttles from the airport to the resort. You can pay for a taxi (about $47 one way) or Mears bus (about $18 one way). I believe you only need to make reservations if you need a return trip from Vistana back to the airport.
