We leave tomorrow for WDW, driving we plan to arrive Thursday. I should andwould be thrilled except that I am staring at a hot pink cast on my left lower leg. I fractured my foot Saturday night, and feel angry and frustrated. My DH says we will still have fun, the wheelchair was delivered today. Everyday activities are so frustrating! I can't use crutches because I don't have any wrist strength from arthritis.
Tell me we will still have fun, I am so bummed:(

you'll have fun, how can you not? its the HAPPIEST place on earth!!!
(front of the line can't hurt? :) )

Oh, you will have fun. Just think--you don't have to walk through the parks all darn day long!! Honestly, it's probably better to be on vacation with your newly acquired cast than at home. You'd probably be trying to do housework and home and just get frustrated. Just sit back in WDW and enjoy the trip and let everyone push you around. Of course, I guess swimming is out... :teeth:

I agree with Christine,

Sit back in your chair and enjoy the ride!!! :goodvibes

Hey, won't being handicapped give you all kinds of perks! ;)

I feel your pain ... literally! 5 weeks ago I fell and broke my right ankle! :sad2: I actually had a hot pink cast too (now I have graduated to a boot)!! I like your taste! I know how frustrated you are - simple things all of a sudden are a major deal! Crutches are the worst!!! I unfortunately broke my ankle in two places so I have been stuck at home all this time - trying to avoid surgery! The good news is that it is healing! Just take it easy and let your family wheel you around. Make sure to keep your foot up as much as possible when you are back at the hotel. I know it is not the same as running around on both feet but it beats sitting at home! You might find that you notice things sitting in the chair that you miss when you are walking by. princess:

I live just 2 hours north of WDW and the other day my 14 year old son said to me ... "Mom, we need to take you to Disney World while you still are off your foot." I thought "What a sweet boy, he knows how much I love Disney and wants to cheer me up!" NOT!!! He actually wanted to wheel me around in a wheelchair and use me to get to the front of the lines!!! :rotfl2: What a thoughful child!

You will have a wonderful time. You will not have to wait in line, you will not get tired from having to walk around and you do not have to clean or cook for the entire length of your stay. Also you have your own autograph book, have Mickey ::MickeyMo and the crew sign your cast.
If you go down ready to have fun you will, if you go thinking how much fun you could have had you wont. It is all up to you. :tink: and pixiedust: have a wonderful trip.

I also feel your pain, just got off crutches and out of the cast boot for a broken foot and torn ligament in my knee from my car accident...

You will still have the best time! It's Disney World and it's vacation, my 2 favorite words. I've had to use a ECV 2 times in Disney and I tell ya, it's not the worst thing in the world, in fact it is quite nice. You don't have to hike & you get great seating in some of the shows.

Have a great time, have the characters sign your cast and then take pics, we wanna see!!!
