Heard from Julie today so I have my fingers crossed. Was gonna suggest lunch before I go but my schedule keeps changing.
I'm starting to get excited about AKL. It will be nice to get out of town with my husband and daughter. Now if I can just get my reflux disorder under control before we leave. I'm having a horrible flair up. Sorry if that's TMI for everyone!

Lunch anytime sounds good! Sorry about the reflux. Can you still eat a Dole Whip? (I like to think of Dole Whips as a fruit on WW) Have you tried Gaviscon? You can add it on to most RX and it is rather safe.

I think I could do lunch this Friday...how about Jason's over near your house? Miranda is a HUGE pin trader. The first thing on her list each trip is to go to DTD, stop at the Pin Trader area and get all set up to trade for the week. I'm sure she would appreciate some.

I am taking the Nexium and have added Jujube and Aphidophilus (not too sure of the spelling). I went to the Sunflower Shoppe over on Camp Bowie. Someone at the gym highly recommended it.

I guess I wanted to see lots of different kinds doing interesting things like they do in the ads. Jumping. Eating leaves right at my window.

What I got was mostly boring animals we weren't familiar with just lying there or sitting there. First time, we were like, "What is that?" "I dunno." Then we'd name them ourselves. I'd be in the bathroom and my friend would call out, "Small brown thing with horns!" Or she'd be on the computer and I'd call, "Large brown thing with horns!"

There was a "Stripy thing" and a "tan thing without horns."

We eventually found the list, but it was no more interesting than it had been.

I've seen zebra and giraffe, but they don't do much. I guess we're just not animal lovers and can't sit there for 20 minutes looking at animals doing nothing and appreciate it like maybe we should.

Maybe if they'd put a lion and a zebra out there. Zebras being the McDonald's of the savannah, I think that would be interesting.

I can look at more interesting animals doing nothing at the zoo.

My point is that even though I don't care at all about the animals, I still really, really enjoy AKL.

So our trip is in 19 days and we will be staying at AKL this trip for the first time. My DH and DD are sooooo excited but I just keep thinking this resort is going to be a beating. AK is not our favorite park so we won't be spending the majority of our time there. I just keep thinking that the transportation to everywhere is going to take a year and a half and we are going to spend all our time on buses. We have paid for a savana (sp?) view so that will be nice. But we will be arriving later in the day then usual. We don't even land until after 4pm so I keep thinking that by the time we arrive all the good rooms are going to be gone and we are going to have a view of half savana/half parking lot.

Tell me this is going to be just fine, please!

Well, we once attended a Food & Wine dinner at Jiko and the guest chef from South Africa referred to the wildlife as "plump and delicious".

Since we were just there (and came back from Florida to a forecast of 12+ inches of snow), you'll be fine. We had no problem with transport. Lots of walking because we had no car and the place is very long.

Recommend taking some slow time and take part in resort events. We actually had fun at poolside bingo and the culinary tour. Tried to do the evening story time, but it was just too cold. Check our the leaflet of events they give you.
