I have heard that it will commence on or about May 6, 2005 and that WDW property guests will need to call 3 weeks prior to arrival date to obtain their paperwork.

Does anyone have any additional information? Hearsay?

Please post.

Thank you.

Just do a search on this board for "Magical express". More and more info.

Ok--so the way I am reading all this info, it appears to me that Northwest Airlines is NOT included in the ME program. Is this correct? So I cannot use the service to and from the airport until NWA becomes a part of the program?

You can fly any airline, including Northwest -- but you don't get the full benefit unless you're on one of the particiating airlines.

For details, see "Magical Express Question" at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=742399

Yes, you can use the Magical Express.

Your luggage will be handled by Disney upon arrival.(regardless of airline)

For your return, you are responsible for getting your luggage to the motorcoach, and getting it checked in at the airport, just like you would if you were travelling today.

It makes no difference what airline you are arriving on...you can still use ME. You will be sent the appropriate luggage tags when you make your reservation. You then tag your stuff, check it at your airport of departure. When you get to Orlando, your bags will be taken off the plane and taken directly to your resort. You will not see them again until you check-in. When you get off the plane you will be sent to a special ME area where you will board the ME bus.

Now, when you are ready to leave WDW, if you are using an 'approved' airline, you can give them your luggage and actually check-in for your flight at your resort. Then you go off and do whatever, come back at the arranged time, get on the bus, go to the airport and go thru security and get on the plane. If you are not using an 'approved' airline, you check-out, give your luggage to bell services if you wish. When it is time to get on the bus, you get your luggage from bell services, put it and yourself on the bus. When you get to the airport, you take your luggage, check-in and check your luggage and the rest is the same.

Hope that helped somewhat. There seem to be a lot of people who think they can not use the return service if they are not using the 'approved' airlines. You just can not do all that airline check-in stuff. You still have to do that at the airport, just as if you were using the old Mears service.
