I have stayed in FW before but never the cabins so this NOV will be the first and I want to know all about them. I really like the way they look. It seems most are in a loop togther but I seen some scattered all over. Is there a best place to stay? I would prefer non smoking and non pets, but it doesn't really matter. I would also like to be closet to the marina. Thanks!

You'll love them.

I think everyone probably has their own favorite. We usually stay on the 2100 loop, and that's probably the closest to the marina, but none of the cabins are really that close. There are two cabins down by the marina, but they don't rent those.

We're staying in a cabin for Labor Day weekend, and it is our 1st time staying on site. We can't wait either.

A FW cabin is the only place my DH and kids will even consider staying. I would love to try some other resorts, but when I bring it up all I get is a very loud "Don't even think about anywhere but Fort Wilderness!!!!!!!" We really love it. My kids are DD/16, DS/9 and DD/8 and they love being able to sit on the deck and play games, chase the lizards, try to spy a rabbit and so much more. We almost always take their roller blades and I have even began to let them go all the way around our loop without an adult being right with them. The loops are small enough that I feel safe letting them venture out a little on their own. We also like loops 2500 and 2600. These are closest to the pool/laundry. It is so nice to have all the conveniences of home. We usually cook breakfast in and have a lunch snack and that way we can really enjoy a nice dinner out. If you have any specific questions please feel free to pm me.

WE LOVE FORT WILDERNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks, I have seen the 2 cabins you are talking about. I didn't realize they didn't rent them though. We usually camp in the prefered section and pass by them all the time. Thought they looked funny by themselves in a bunch of RVs and TTs

Another vote for the cabins from my family. Now my DH wont consider anywhere else. We have stayed in Loops 2400, 2300, 2600 and 2800 (Twice). I liked the cabins in the 2800 loop the best because we were closer to the front of the loop. They aren't as close to the pool but that doesnt matter to us. And it is close enough to walk to from the Outpost bus stop if you dont want to wait for a bus.

We eat most breakfasts in the cabin, then eat lunch in a park or resort then eat dinner/snack when we get back at night. It is so nice to have the space of the seperate bedroom and 2 TVs.

We love the boat ride to the MK. Love Trails End, love the campfire and movie......sigh.....only 109 more days!

We have stayed both in our camper and in the cabins at Fort Wilderness. Ditto what the others have said. It is a very enjoyable experience. The cabins offer a lot of flexibility in that you can put the kids down in the BR and then have some grownup time in the LR. The kitchen has everything for making simple meals.

We liked having a kitchen and extra space so much that we bought into DVC. We still make an occasional trip in our camper though.

Good luck! Honestly, it is hard to go wrong with any choice at Disneyworld.

So we stayed in the cabins over Labor Day weekend and LOVED THEM!!! We were in the 2200 loop, and it was great. We had rented a golf cart. Which at first I thought was excessive, but we really enjoyed having it. Especially after having a long day at the parks and then waiting for disney transportation to take us back to Fort Wilderness, it was so nice knowing we had a golf cart there waiting for us. Our two girls, DD7 and DD4, really had fun riding on the back of the golf cart too. It's so quiet and peaceful at Fort Wilderness, it was very, very relaxing. Our girls loved their bunk beds, we loved having the full kitchen, and having space to throw our stuff. It was a great trip.

The only thing that's changed recently in the cabins is that they've added broadband internet connections in the room, and not too long ago they added a second TV (in the bedroom).

I stayed in the 2100 loop last week. I did notice that the 100 loop was closed for refurbishment.

I believe that the two cabins up in the 100? loop are there to be used by executives of the company that manufacture the cabins for WDW. Does anyone know this for sure? I remember hearing about this years ago as I was walking by them and wondering aloud. At the time they were the old style trailer homes.

I've been told by the Disney people that they are for Disney VIP's.

I tried to convince them that I was one, but I didn't have any luck. :earsboy:

I've heard those cabins are actually meeting rooms or office space in the 100 loop. Don't know how true that is.

They are both regular cabins. My daugher and family stayed in one a couple of years ago. Not sure how my wife pulled that off, but it was cool for them.

We tried to get into the 100 loop to be in the same loop, but ended up in the 400 loop across the street.

Ditto for our family of 6 (& growing!) :lovestruc
The Ft. Wilderness Cabins are THEE only place they will stay!
I personally like the privateness of our own cabin. (not to forget the daily maid service! :goodvibes )
Though they are grouped close together, we didn't even hear our 4 yr. old neice crying, screaming & in general giving her mom a hard time about going to bed that first night because she was afraid she'd miss something!
And their cabin was right next to ours!
