Hi everybody! We've been to Disney many, many times but we usually stay in the moderates or deluxes because we love spending lots of time at our resort renting bikes, boats, hanging out at the pool, soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying the restaurtants, etc. This May, we are going for a quick 4 night trip and we are booked at All Star Movies. It will be our frist trip with a baby! I thought that since we are going for a shorter trip this time (we usually stay around 10 days or so) that we would go with a cheaper room. I figured we wouldn't have as much down time to enjoy all the extra recreation options we usually do. I'm actually really excited about staying at All Star Movies. It looks so cute and I think our baby (who will turn 1 on our trip) will like it. So, I'd love to hear about anything special or fun at All Star Movies. Any good tips for a great room location, fun things to do, special little details to check out, what's good at the food court, etc? How's the kiddie pool? Our bitty buddy LOVES the water and I think he will get a huge kick out of being in the pool! I'd appreciate any insider info you experts can pass on to us! We can't wait!!

ASMo and AKL are the only two resorts with a direct Disney theme, in my opinion. ASMo has the characters from the movies and AKL is as close as a resort gets to the extension of a WDW park theme!

ASMo is a great resort. Notice all the Disney details, like the popcorn light in your room. Take time to visit the other buildings and see all the themes. All the little details make this resort especially fun.

The foodcourt has your standard fastfood but the chicken quesadillas are very yummy.

I was going to mention the popcorn light, too. DH loved that light so much, he played with the switch for 10 minutes before I talked him into going down to the food court, which is another great thing about ASMo. We were only ther 1 night, arrived early for our CBR ressie, so decided to try it out. I think you'll like it. It's a lot different from the deluxes though. But definelty Disney themed and fun.

We really enjoy ASMO! The bus service is great, CMs are friendly and helpful, and the Theming couldnt be more "Disney".

We have always found the food court to be reasonably priced and the food very good. My personal favorite is the taco salad with beef. I was also very surprised at how fresh the pasteries were in the morning. Those cinnamon rolls melt in your mouth(as I sit here eating my Special K. ;) )

As long as you arent expecting a deluxe going into it(which it sounds like you arent), you wont be disappointed.

Although we only stayed here for one night, we really explored this place thoroughly! There's a little playground between the Toy Story bldgs and the main pool. It's kinda hidden in the bushes and might be hard to find. We just stumbled upon it ourselves.

Also, check out the water spouts between the Love Bug bldgs. My kids loved this area and it was pretty nostalgic for hubby and I, having grown up on Love Bug movies. Definitely take time to see the Mighty Ducks pool along with the main pool.

We enjoyed the food court, gift shop and arcade as well. Another thing I thought was cute was, as we were walking around, noticing the towel animals people had placed in their first floor windows.

Finally, look for the hidden Mickey in Andy's Room area between the Toy Story bldgs. This is something we do at all the resorts. Enjoy your stay!!
