Tell me all that you love about CSR

beautiful resort, we love walking around at night. We stayed in Ranchos on our last stay and while it is far from the peper market we did not mind as it was so quiet. my son loved, loved, loved the pool. We have also stayed at POR and actually liked CSR more.

Love hearing how much ppl love CSR. Never stayed at a moderate resort, always Dxl, and we are really excited to be doing it with free dining.
My parents are coming with, and my dad has afib which he had surgery for in may. He doesn't want to use a ECV. Will he have issues getting around the resort itself? We have a preferred room. I know he will not over do it, but he'll be bummed if he can't get to the pool and food. Should I just rent it for him, or can he do it(the resort)? He won't be at the parks much.

The preferred rooms are a ways from the pool. He may want to consider hopping on the nearest bus (whichever bus comes along first) and getting off at the bus stop near the Cabanas section. That could cut down on his walking. Preferred would be close to the food court and restaurant though. If you are planning to eat at the resort a lot, they could be a good choice. If you're planning not to eat much there(but planning to swim a lot), you could skip preferred and just ask for something near the pool.

This is about the only thing I"m not crazy about CSR for...the distance between the pool and food court. But is is a beautiful resort with a great pool and the most deluxe feel of the mods. (also, there is some food at the pool...not sure of the hours or offerings)

Do they still have the internal shuttle? Dad could hop on that if they do. It's an oversized golf cart that goes around the resort. You can call if you need a ride, also.

CSR is our favorite Mod, also, having stayed at CSR, POR and CBR.

Things I haven't seen mentioned. They do a little ceremony on the pyramid stairs each morning for kids to help open the pool. It's cute.

The bar and bathrooms at the pool are nice.

We had the best meal of our trip one year at Mara. (ETA sorry, Maya Grill.)

We like Pepper Market but think it was better years ago. (Haven't stayed there more recently, but visited the resort). The quick serve place is pretty good; much improved from when we stayed there.

There is a small but cute lounge area outside of Pepper Market.

Great gift shop.

I think there's a Spa now, too? Haven't been there but it's a nice feature. (My DD was in need of a haircut one trip and she got it done at the Spa at the Dolphin. Pretty handy.)

You can rent bikes and surrey bikes to explore the resort. (We always rent two and share.) Walking the resort at night is easier after sundown (so hot otherwise), and it's especially beautiful then, too.

We've stayed in a suite in Casitas and a standard room in Ranchos. Ranchos seems far, but we were actually fairly close to the main pool (like, a two minute walk), and from there El Centro isn't super far. (I think they should have put a bridge going across the lake to make it easier to get around the resort, but maybe it just wasn't possible.)

As I mentioned before, there is (or at least there used to be) an internal shuttle you can hop on and off to get from place to place if it's really hot out or if you have luggage, etc.

The conventioners haven't bothered us. Saw a few hanging around the outside seating areas in the evening, but that's about it. They seemed jovial anyway. (Who wouldn't be, at Disney?)
