The worst thing that has ever happened to us was Spring Break this year the curtain rod screws were coming out of the wall at Boardwalk. I can't say anything bad has happened to us. But we are not nit picky people. We love our DVC and have not regretted any moment of our purchase. We are actually going to add on at the end of this year (When we can pay cash).
LOL! Our January BWV stay saw a curtain rod jump completely off the wall and crash to the ground one early evening. One phone to Maintenance solved the problem ... while we went out for dinner.
The biggest problem I ever had was with making reservations. I wanted to go to Maui over my daughter's spring break this year and wanted to make the reservations last fall. Anyway, nothing was availabe at that time through II & I decided to go with the Grand Wailea since I did not have a lot of flexibility on dates and wanted to lock in a reservation. However, it seemed to take forever for DVC to get their contract signed with the GW for 2008. I was calling every day! But we got our reservation & everything was great!
These could really happen to anyone @ WDW, not just DVCers.
1. Took a 1-year old who is deathly allergic to peanuts. He was crawling around in the bedroom, put his hand under the bed, & came out with a peanut M & M!! Thank goodness for Benadryl & Epipen! Lesson: tell them about allergies prior to & during check-in and ask for extra thorough cleaning!!
2. Bought our tickets at check-in. We asked for them to include the Water Parks and More option. Of course everything was reviewed at the end of the transaction and we were told we had that option. We had a group of 14. We went to Blizzard Beach fully prepared for a day of fun in the sun, go to the gates, ACCESS DENIED! They did not add water parks to our tickets! After much unpleasant ado & about an hour of phone calls, some of which to the rest of our group to stop them before them they suffered the same experience, we were comped the day at water park, but then had to go back to the front desk to have everything resolved. End result: Water Parks & More for free!! And we didn't even ask, we were fully prepared to pay for it! All's well that ends well.
3. Our guide didn't convince us to buy enought points.
