We are planning a trip - party of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids). We were considering getting a cabana, but it sounds like there are ones for 6 people and one for 16.

How early can you book it - do you have to call or can you do it online?

Is there tiered pricing depending upon season?

How early should you book? We will be there on April 21st.

Is there any safe place for valuables in the cabana.

Are they sticklers with the number of people in the cabana at one time - thus only allow 6. Chances are my twin boys will be off and out in the pools most of the day, which would leave really only 5 of us that might be in there at one time.

If you did it for your party, did you find it worth the money. Any certain pro/cons on getting the cabana?

I booked cabanas for my Sept trip earlier this year. I booked 6 person cabanas both times though had a ground cabana for 1 of the days and an upper cabana for the 2nd day (spent a week in total at Universal.) I had to call in to reserve the cabanas as there wasn't a way to do it online. I booked the ground floor cabana in the July time frame. When we decided to do 2 days in VB and called to reserve the 2nd cabana, I was told I couldn't and would have to wait until about 2 weeks before my trip to make a reservation. I called back a week or so later (still 6 weeks before my trip) and was able to reserve my upper cabana. So I "think" you can call in and make your reservations at least a few months (if not even earlier) in advance of your trip. Personally, I'd call in now to see if I could get my reservations made (and if I called and was told I had to wait till closer to my trip date, I'd wait a day or 2 and try again.)

I think the tiered pricing is based on how crowded they think the park will be on a given day. So the more crowded, the higher the price. And yes, there is a locker in the cabana that you can put your valuables into. I couldn't say as to how much of a stickler they might be on the number of folks as we only had 4 of us there.

As for worth, I loved it. It was very nice to not have to worry about finding shade, paying for a locker, bringing my own towels, and they will even take your food order and bring the food to you (for most of the restaurants, but not all of them.) I personally enjoyed the upper cabana views. And the chairs and benches were very comfortable. I also enjoyed the fruit provided with the breakfast tray you get. Would it be worth it for you? That is hard to say, but if I go back during the hotter months, I would probably get a cabana again, mostly for the comfort and the views. :)
