I'm trying to make the most informed decision of where we should stay next October. Family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). Last trip we stayed at WH and I thought we would do onsite this trip but anything remotely the right size is $$$$.

you can a reservation from a DVC member and save you some money.

OKW and AKV are the least expensive - with AKV you would need a value or standard villa not a savannah view. bwv standard view only.

that say Wyndham Bonnett Creek (there are other resorts now at BC) - is quite nice. It is not my favorite - but hey everyone is different.

with DVC avoid BLT (most expensive), BCV, BWV (preferred) and VWL villa - they are expensive.

ssr is between - it is not cheap but it less expensive than the top - that say it is the biggest and easiest to get a reservation at.

We are Wyndham owners and think Bonnet Creek is great. DH has always said he would love to just stay there and not go to Disney but I told him he is crazy. If we are going anywhere near Orlando/Lake Buena Vista, we are going to WDW!!!! He's not going to cheat me out of a visit. Anyway, BC has lots of activities, the condos are still in fairly new condition and very nice. They are medium sized. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. The kitchens are well equipped. They all have balconies/patios. There is a miniature golf course, a number of pools (at least 3), 2 lazy rivers, a game room, a deli, live music, etc. We have stayed there at least 5-6 times in 1,2 and 3 bedroom units. The biggest disadvanatge to them is the obnoxious sales staff and the fact that they are highrises. If you have any specific questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Bonnet Creek really is a beautiful resort. If you want to pretty much be onsite and have extra space but not pay Disney prices, you really can't beat it.

It is located next door to the Caribbean Beach Resort so you are pretty much right near Hollywood Studios, the Boardwalk area and Downtown Disney.

They are high rises, but each condo has at least 2 bedrooms with full kitchen, sleeper sofa, two bathrooms ...one with soaking tub, washer and dryer.

We have rented a couple times here and usually use myresortnetwork.com to rent. Another place is vacationupgrades.com.

We are also a family of 5 and find that the space, amenities and location just work for us. We'll be back there in February.

Hope this helps!

PS. We have also NEVER had to deal with sales people. We tell them no when we check in and then simply take the phone off the hook in the unit since we use our cell phones anyway. NEVER been an issue.

We also used Ken Price at vacation upgrades to rent a 2br this past May. it is a very easy drive to Epcot and HS and the Boardwalk in general. They have free transport, but we had trouble figuing it out.

It is a good place to stay with the famiy, washer drier, dishwasher etc. There is balcony and you can request fireworks view. It is a highrise, but you can park fairly close to the entrance and you do get a nice view higher up. There are two lazy rivers and a nice game room, depending on which building you are in that is a short walk around a lovely lake. Ther was a very small putt putt course, pool tables, a ping pong table, 4 computers with two hooked up to printers, movies screened, board games, etc.

I would stay again with family. With just DH, you will fin me either at the Boardwalk or at the Waldorf right down from the Wyndham bonnet Creek.

I have never stayed at WH.

I rally like the bonnet Creek area for convenience.

The firework view is of Epcot. We just got back a few weeks ago and was on the 11th floor. Perfect view of the Epcot ball. We loved the resort and plan on staying there for our next trip.

they have firework views? of the mk??? holy awsomeness :goodvibes

We actually had fireworks views of both Epcot and the MK from our balcony (building 5). You could hear them really well too.

We could aslo see the Epcot ball and Downtown Disney. We loved it there and will definitely go back! :thumbsup2

I think Bonnet Creek just went to the top of my list...view of epcot and fireworks? Awsome!!

Are the 2 sites that were already mentioned the best place to book this resort thru?

I booked through ebay and got a very good rate (came out to be about $90 a night for a 2BR/2BA).

Just so there's no misunderstanding, not all of the units have fireworks views. You can request it, but they don't guarantee it. That said, I actually checked in on Christmas Day last year, they had neglected to assign my room (even though I had called ahead of time to confirm my requests), but they were still able to put me in the unit we had (and it was great!).

My daughter liked it so well last Christmas that she and her husband stayed there on their honeymoon last June. Their unit was designated as a fireworks view, but she said the view wasn't nearly as good as the one we had (they were in building 1). Still a great place to stay though no matter what!

Bonnet creek has 1-4 bedroom units... as others posted it is next to carribean beach resort, and very close to all the disney parks. I used the resort's shuttle once this past month and had no issues at all. Certain buildings have a view of the fireworks, best view from the higher floors. You can call resort prior to checkin and ask for a fireworks view, so far the two times we have stayed there our requests have been met.

You can also trying renting a week from redweek.com (but you do have to pay a fee) vrbo.com, and Ebay as well. Just today I saw a 2 bedroom villa on redweek for 12/12-12/19 for a total of $300!!

While transportaion is not as frequent as the WDW resorts but it is ok. We always have our car and end up using it with our AAA parking pass for max flexibilty.
You will love the location, size of unit and ammenities. The best part is that the kids who come (26/23/20) for all or part of the trip have their own bedroom.
We use Laura at Sun or Snow Timeshare. Her number is 719-235-3506. If you use Laura please say Rich in Beaufort, SC refered you.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the info, just booked a two bedroom at Bonnet Creek, off of Reweek for 410.00, from 12/19-12/26.

We were there in January, and though we did not have fireworks view, we would go to the window near the elevators and watch the EPCOT fireworks.
Thinking about going with family in Sept-Oct 2010 - does anyone remember if there were any 'small groceries' in the gift shop?

A *very* small selection---not quite as well-provisioned as a typical DVC store, if memory serves. But, they had a decent red wine, pasta, and sauce, so we were set. ;)

The store was worse than a gas station convience store. Skip it- way overpriced too! Go to Walmart and get your groceries there. Get a car b/c then you have the freedom to come and go and not to wait for the shuttles that aren't exactly the most reliable. We LOVE it there, and you will too. It is a beautiful resort. We are planning on spending a couple of days just there at the resort. Hope you go and have a great time! :)

Does anyone know what kind of quick food service (if any)Bonnet Creek has?
We're arriving at MCO New Year's Day in the evening (after 7:00 p.m.) and heading straight to BC for a two night stay before our check-in at BLT on 1/3, so I'm not scheduling a GardenGrocer delivery until we get to BLT on the 3rd.
We will need to have something when we get there the evening of the 1st and also, a light breakfast on the 2nd. Not worried about later in the day on the 2nd since we'll eat while at the parks and then will pick up something for breakfast on the 3rd. We just don't want to stop at the grocery on our way in from MCO if we don't need to. I always pack our own coffee and filters and if necessary, I'll pick up some small boxes of cereal, granola bars, a few pieces of fruit, etc. and just pack them for something quick in the A.M., but, will still need to get some milk for the cereal and coffee.

Sandwiches, pizza, wraps. The new bar area over by the Escudos pool has a menu that's a little more involved---burgers, etc. Mostly just for lunch and dinner---I don't know if anything there is open for breakfast, though the cafe in the main building might be---you might want to give them a call to check on hours. There is a small shop with basics that has milk, etc. However, the Hilton and Waldorf=Astoria are a not-too-long walk just across Chelonia Parkway. They were not yet open on my last stay, but now that they are, the restaurant situation in the area is much improved.

Edited to add: it looks like the cafe is open for breakfast, but only a continental one:

(That page doesn't list the new place over by Escudos yet.)
