Tell me all about BCV!!

Hi!

I just booked BCV for my vacation in January. We are going January 2-8 (I know it might be cold but the kids have the week off of school and we hope the parks will be empty!)

Anyway, our home resort is OKW but we wanted to try a new resort for this trip. Tell me all the fun things about the resort! Any recommendations for room requests? Any other advice is welcome too!

Don't miss the movies on the beach. There's a sign posted on the beach in front of the BC letting you know what movie will be what night. My favorite view is the woods view on the upper floors, but others may say differently.

We love BCV, it's beautiful. The location is great, the pool is great, just so much fun! I hope to buy there....

Anyhow, as for room requests, we stayed in room 560 (studio). I asked for a larger balcony on a higher floor. The 5th floor is the highest and we had the biggest balcony overlooking the BCV pool. It rocked! We went out there every night after the kids went to bed and hung out.

I always request upper floor/pool view at BCV (this would be the villa/quiet pool)... requested an Epcot view only once, and we didn't love it.

The Boardwalk area resorts in-general are just fun!! You can walk over to the Boardwalk on any night and just happen upon what might be going on.

Word of warning if this is the first time going this time of year.... It can be down-right COLD!!! so pack at least fleece weight coats with little gloves stuffed in the pockets... fashionable scarfs might not be a bad idea if you have them... warm neck with a zipper hoodie can make a world of difference.

Have fun.. crowds should be a dream in comparison to the week prior!

Oh DisDreamer I love your pics!

BCV is my favorite resort. I was going to mention the gelato, but I just read they don't have it anymore. But that won't stop me from loving BCV anyway. The location an atmosphere are both great. Walking to Epcot and taking the boat to Studios can't be beat. Be sure and spend an afternoon or evening at Stormalong Bay, and the movies on the beach are fun. The character breakfast is great too! You're going to have a fantastic time!

Thanks for all the suggestions. While I've visited the resort many times, eaten at the restaurants, and even used the pool as a DVC member (before BCV was built---yes...it WAS allowed!), I've just never stayed there. I'll have to call back and make some room requests. I wasn't sure how it worked at BCV, because at OKW you request a particular BUILDING you want, not necessarily a certain room. Hopefully the weather this January won't be as nasty as last year. My kids won't care though...they'll swim not matter what the temperature is!

I like rooms with the view of the canal. They are close to the parking lot.

We just returned from WDW and had studio 560; it was great!!! We are also returning Jan 2nd-7th. The kids loved the pool sooo much!!! our home resort is also OKW. Jan weather is really hit/miss but the kids will swim no matter what the temp. lol Have fun planning!
