Please tell me your experiences on dining with large groups. Our ADRs are below if you have any experience at those places.

We are having a family vacation on Memorial Day Week. There will be 14 of us. 7 adults and 7 children. All are on the dining plan because nobody wants to cook and it was a great way to budget our trip ahead of time.

2 - Seniors
5 -30-40 somethings
kids - 9, 8, 6, 6, 5, 4, and 3.

We are scheduled for
Chef Mickeys for 12, Concourse for 2
Garden Grill for 14 at 4:40p
CRT lunch for 12 (2 will eat somewhere else)
Hollywood and Vine at 3:30 pm for Fantasmic Dining Package for 14.

I hope someone with some experience with this posts. I'll be there also May 19-26th with 14 family members (don't worry, no overlaping reservations:goodvibes ) At some restaurants they suggested multiple reservations with smaller numbers so we could eat later, using group dining I think they only book you in the first hour the restaurant is open. I do hope we get to sit near each other!

We don't arrive until the 27th. I haven't found to many threads about group dining. We should both write about our experiences when we get back.:)

Did you go through Grand Gatherings? I didn't. I wasn't going to do any of the Grand Gathering Events because we wanted to do the CRT and that takes 2 of our credits.

I picked buffets and family style thinking it would be easier with the groups. I'll let you know. Is your group eating together every day?

It's been a year and a half since we've been, but we have traveled there several times in groups from 12 to 16 in size. We had great experiences at Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace and the 50s PrimeTime Cafe on every time we have gone. They told us when booking that they couldn't guarantee that we would be seated together at 50s PrimeTime and Crystal Palace, but on every occasion we were. I can't, however, vouch for anything since the dining plan began. It sounds like business has certainly picked up at all of the table service locations, although from my experience, the theme park restaurants were never slow. Not sure if this will impact the larger groups in a negative way. We are traveling in early June with a group of 11 so I guess we will see...
