I'm trying to figure out what room requests to make for our February visit to BWV. I'd love to just hear if anyone has really loved:love:(or hated:sad:) a room that they have had there.

Upper floor & near elevator got us 5 doors from the elevator on the 5th floor. We were a cash booking, not points, standard view. We ended up with a view of the grass courtyard and could see illuminations fireworks at night. Quite possibly the best room we've had in all our stays.

If you booked Preferred view (cash booking - would be Pool/Garden view for a DVC reservation) and like to take naps and actually sleep in the afternoon, request a view of the quiet pool. The activities at the Luna Park pool in the afternoons are lead by CMs with very loud microphones!

Sounds Lovely! We are booked into a Garden/Pool room view, but that almost makes me want to request a standard:flower:

That is one of those things that you would never think of, but that could totally ruin a quiet afternoon! Thanks for the heads up:thumbsup2

Twice we booked boardwalk view. And received a totally obstructed view on the balcony. There are a few studios with this obstruction. Irked me to use more points for this nonsense. These rooms should be less than standard room points.

I am glad you asked this to see what people have to say. We booked a standard view BWV for our August trip but figured we are in our room so little that it's not worth it for us to pay more for a view.

I did online check in and left my requests blank. We don't mind walking but I won't hesitate to ask for an upgrade when we check in.

Standard is a booking category for DVC points stays. Those villas are along the front drive. Even if you book standard on cash, you won't get the standard points view. You'll get pool/garden view. The leisure pool tends to be quieter during the time the pool is open. The Luna Park pool can get pretty noisy during the day with the pool parties. Boardwalk view is also a booking category for points stays. Not available for cash stays.

Thanks for the rundown! I wonder if the Luna park pool might be slightly less busy/loud in February than warmer times of year🤔

We booked DVC BWV standard view- cash. What is the rationale behind which views that Disney gives you a cash buyer vs a DVC points user? I guess in my mind, I think Disney would keep their DVC rooms with better views for those that keep coming back rather (DVC members) then give us (non DVC members) the better view. While yes we do come to disney on average 2/3 times per year, we're not big $$$ for them.

The standard view on points requires a lot fewer points per night and it is only about 20% of the total resort. It gets booked up really quickly. So there isn't much standard view left when cash guests book. You get the preferred view, just not the BW view.

Staying at BWV in about 12 days. I always request overlooking the Village Green. Love that location. Overlooks the middle grassy area but am also able to see the Boardwalk area and lake.

You are in a studio, I take it.

Yes in a studio. Just me and DS20 and DD18. (DH is not as big of a Disney fan so he is staying home with the dog). We have a friend who owns lots of points at Wilderness Lodge and he always has extra points and he rents to us for $8 a point. Can't pass that up.
Nice friend.

I think I once had this location, too. I had requested top floor, but close to the elevator. My room WAS the top floor, and about 3 doors down from the elevator. Standing on my balcony, I could see the grand stairway leading to the lobby on my right. To my left I could see the lake, and a small bit of The Boardwalk area. While my view was busy, it was NOT too busy. It was a perfectly lovely view !!!

I've only stayed once and we were 'upgraded' to a Boardwalk View. If you are an early riser this room is wonderful but I am not. We were awoken by the boats blowing their horn every morning at 7a.

Now I know next time to ask for a room away from the Boardwalk or the Luna pool.
