Tell me about your child's 1st experience with Barnstormer...

DD was just over 3 when she rode it and liked it although it is so short that I'm not sure she had time to get scared. This year she wants to ride BTMRR.

Dd was 2.5 when she first rode the Barnstormer...and loved it!!! Surprisingly, she has not turned into a little daredevil as her brothers did. Now 5, she has ridden Barnstormer too many times to count but refuses to tackle BTMRR. During our many visits to Barnstormer, I've noticed that far, far more older kids and adults chicken out of riding it than do little ones.

Both of my girls LOVE it!

My oldest was 3 1/2 her first time, and she really liked it!

My youngest was a couple of months shy of 3 her first time, and she got to ride up front WITH GOOFY her very first time on!!

They have both actually been able to ride with Goofy on different trips, so it is for sure a favorite in our house!

My son rode GB in January at almost 3 and a half. He didn't really like it. He didn't cry or anything, but he didn't want to ride it again. His favourite rides were Aladdin's Magic Carpets and Tomorrowland Speedway.

He also rode Test Track (just tall enough) and also didn't care for it. I don't think he cared much for the fast rides, and I know he doesn't like loud noises, so I think that had something to do with what he liked.

What is the height requirement? My DS (3 y.o.) is a bit short for his age. But he is afraid of nothing and I know he would love this ride.

I was wondering about this ride. Last time we went and my DD was 3.5. She wanted to ride it. I didnt let her. Partly because I thought she was too young, and partly because DH is 6 feet, 4 inches and probably couldnt fit on it, and I dont ride rollercoasters.....of any size LOL.

We go back in Oct and DD will be 4.5. I know she will want to ride it again. And I cant let her go alone LOL.

My dd went on it when she was 4, and she loves it but then she has always been a little daredevil. She also wanted to go on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain railroad, Expedition Everest and Space Mountain but she won't be going on those for a while. My 2 yo ds on the other hand didn't enjoy Barnstormer. He went on it once, and told us that he didn't like it. He also didn't like the Mad Tea Party either since my dd and my dh was spinning that thing like crazy! So I guess it really depends on the child. Although my ds didn't enjoy Barnstormer, he was still very willing to try the other rides.

All three of my little ones loved it, even my three year old who's a bit of a scaredy cat sometimes. She did comment though that she wishes she didn't hit the back of head on the bench so often...it was quite jerky. Me on the other hand, I'm apparently really wimpy and I hated it. You'll never get me on that thing again.

My oldest DD was 26 months the first time she rode and could not get enough of it. I also took her on the the Tower of Terror as soon as she was tall enough when she just turned 3. It is her favorite ride and she rides over and over again. My youngest went on the barnstormer at 15 months the first time and the best description I have is that she tolerates the ride. She will be tall enough for TOT when we go in May and will be 3 yrs old, but I would never take her on the ride. So my short answer is, it depends on the kid.

We'll be going in September and my DS will have his first opportunity to ride it. He is a little daredevil so I think he'll love it.

Is there a spot to take some photos of he and my hubby while they are riding it, without me having to take up a spot myself???

My dd was not quite 3 (about 3 weeks away) when she rode it. She was just tall enough. We rode it 6 straight times one evening (there were no lines). She absolutely loved it. They measured her the first 2 times through and then stopped. It's also the only ride that she still remembers (almost 1.5 years ago at this point). My ds was 5.5 then and wouldn't ride it.

3 YO's on ToT, BTMRR, RnRC????? We went to WDW a few years ago with some friends who had 2 kids, 2 and 4 and they were still to short to ride anything!

On GB, do you have to sit side by side? No lap sitting, correct? That looks awful intense for a little one.....

i took my daughter on it when she was 3 and she had her hands up the entire time.... Not mommy i was holding her with one hand and holding on with the other :)
She loved it we got off and right back on
I LOVED IT TOO!!!

My son will be 3 in July.

I'm tempted to take him on Goofy's Barnstormer in April. He tends to like rides and I "think" he will love something like this. I'm just afraid of being wrong and him then being afraid of going on anything after that.

I was thinking maybe I would try it 1st without him (and looking like a complete fool riding alone I'm sure ;), but would love to know how your little ones reacted the 1st time they rode.

Thanks so much!

My best advice would be to start him off slowly with more gentle rides. Kids tend to become braver as the day/ week wears on. Peter Pan was one of the first rides we went on and DD thought it was scary. However, by the end of the week she had changed her mind about it and wasn't even phased by much scarier attractions such as TGMR and ITTBAB.

My kids loved it!

That said, I thought I was going to die! I don't know what it is about the rollercoaster...I can handle thunder mountain, space mountain, etc. Goofy's Barnstormer? Forget it. I now refer to it as the vomit comet.

Funny you should say this! My DD does not like Barnstormer at all! She was excited to try it but said it was too fast and she didn't feel good. And she LOVES the tea cups, Splash, BTMRR and Test Track. Personally, I'm thrilled not to have to go on it again, more time for the real thrill rides.

one or two of my favorite moments in Disneyworld is goofys barnstormer.
all my kids are experts at disney rides and have never been afraid of any of them.
I started them all off slow, on the first day its small world and the rest,
and then to goofys barnstormer. It is another great thing Disney has done.
gives the little ones their own coaster, and gives them the courage and then something to look forward to on the bigger rides.
my 3rd child was 2 when he rode for the first time,
we still have the "first ride" card,
its all knurled and curled and stained cuz he held it in his hand all day showing it to anyone who would look at it.
so proud.

Kids definitely vary widely in height. :thumbsup2 My oldest was tall enough to ride everything by the time he was 5 (well over 48") but my middle child had to wait until he was 7 1/2 to reach that mark. My DD is of average height and on our trip last summer she was 4 1/2 yrs. and 42".

My son was two and a half when he went on it the first time. I think it was more of a shock for him that anything, poor kid. My husband held onto him like they were flying through a tornado.

I really can't say if he enjoyed it or disliked it. He looked a little numb afterwards, but he didn't cry (or yell that he wanted to do it again!).
