I am really interested in hearing how this was for you- did you get any special perks or rates? Did you keep your same cabin, table etc? what did you do on transition day? :wave2:

We have a back to back booked. Yes, we are keeping the same cabin.

Whether or not we have to get off the ship between cruises depends on the security level and such at that time...the decision will be made before the first cruise ends.

People we know were doing back to backs last fall..they got to stay on the ship.

I remember reading someone's post about a back-to-back --- they did have the same stateroom for both "legs" of the cruise -- they even turned down an upgrade for one leg, because they'd then have to change staterooms on "transition day" -- they were able to leave all their luggage on board, but I do believe they had to disembark, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I too would like to hear about back to backs -- our next goal (between 2007 and 2010) is to do a Western Carribean with DCL, and I might even be able to convince DH to do both the Western & Eastern back to back if we can afford it and if 14 nights on the 2005 repo cruise doesn't drive him nuts. :teeth:

Yes, you can keep the same cabin. In our experience, you could make a choice to stay on board or get off. If you get off, you have to go thru the "boarding" line again and wait till the boarding starts at 11:45 or whatever.

We did the Eastern and Western back to back last year: it was just MAGICAL! We got off the ship at P. Canaveral, as we wanted to get to Walmarts to stock up on cheap clothes: our prices in UK are far more expensive.

We were SO laid back by the time we went home, that we were HORIZONTAL! Do it if you can, its the best holiday ever! Worth saving up for 2 years!Nat:Pinkbounc

You do not have to leave the ship if you do back-to-back cruises.

We have done back-to-back twice now and have a three-peat scheduled for this year and another two-peat scheduled for next year.

If you like 7 days, you'll love 14 days. We'll let you know what 21 days is like when we get back in Sept. The problem here is trying to figure out what else to do during the year with the rest of our vacation time.

We have always kept the same cabin. We will always choose to stay on board when allowed (must go to the 'custons' talk on cc day to find out if you can stay on or not). We usually do laundry, hang out at the pool, 'check-in' at guest services, do the ressie scramble and have a bottle of Fairytale to celebrate vacations. Sometimes we check out other cabin catagories for future information.
