We are going to be rescheduling our 2020 trip for next year and since we’ll have one more year of saving for the trip, I’d like to upgrade! Our initial (perfectly planned, I might add...) trip was going to be CBR and I was thinking of just recreating it with an upgrade to Riviera or somewhere in the Boardwalk area but the idea of Wilderness Lodge and planning a whole new MK centered trip intrigues me!

My biggest question is - what’s the difference between WL, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek? I get that 2 are DVC villa resorts but is any one resort better than the other or are all pretty comparable? Is there one you’d recommend? We‘ve only stayed deluxe once before in a Jambo House studio but I honestly had no clue about the DVC stuff and just booked it because it had the cheapest rate (which honestly might happen here too!) We‘ll be traveling with an almost 2 year old so I kind of like the idea of a studio vs a regular hotel room.

Any suggestions would be helpful!!

Copper Creek studios are inside the main Wilderness Lodge resort building, whereas Boulder Ridge studios are in a separate building. That's one important difference.

Excellent choice! We love Wilderness Lodge. If you like Jambo House you will probably like WL in my opinion as they are both themed on the outdoors/nature.

We have only stayed in One-Bedroom Boulder Ridge villas and I will share my likes. Firstly, we stay there all the time because we really like them. Beach Club has SAB and WL isn’t on the monorail loop, and is lacking in good restaurant choices like GF and Contemporary, and doesn’t have the access to theme parks that some Deluxe Resorts do, but maybe that is why it is slightly less busy. We love how laid back the resort is.

The one-bedroom has a kitchen, which allows you to keep food in the fridge and heat things in an oven or microwave. You can wash in a real sink, and have a dishwasher. You also have a washer/dryer, which is great for a longer stay especially with kids. You can bring less luggage and not worry about running to do laundry if cloths are soiled. The other thing I like about the one bedroom is that there is a separate shower from the tub, sink area and the tub/sink area opens to the bedroom. This is great if you are in there bathing your child so you can have it open to the bedroom to not feel closed in or to speak with your spouse In the bedroom. Or maybe you can even take a bath and watch TV!!

No matter which you choose, you will probably enjoy WL- pick the one that suits your budget.

Wilderness Lodge is hotel rooms in the main building. Copper Creek is DVC rooms in the main building. Boulder Ridge (our favorite of the 3) is a separate building.

The only negatives per Boulder Ridge is they are yet to be updated. Matters not to us but seems to matter to some. We love the Boulder Ridge serenity. it is also much closer, and easier to get to the bus depot... it is a about a minute or two farther from the boat launch docks. Ask for an odd numbered room for lake views.

We always choose Boulder Ridge if given the options.

We love boulder ridge. We are going for 10 days in September. Lots of space. We love the pools and the lodge to just sit in and listen to the music.
